Legally, go and justify firing someone who wasn't an employee at the time, wasn't connected to your company, and who had no idea what his comments might evolve into. It's thought policing.

I would say in the real world, your bosses are probably held to a higher standard. But it’s hard to call the head coaches “bosses” when many of the players are payed more.

His comments about the blacks would be what I would focus on. You can’t with good conscience say some shit about a black dudes lips and act like you didn’t mean it because he was black. In a world where easily more than half of your players are black. Yikes. Not a good look.

Are you new? You think high-profile contracts don’t have conduct clauses? Good lord, I work for a tiny company that no one has ever heard of and my contract has a conduct clause and it isn’t limited to conduct while under their employ. Real world. Check it out sometime.
