Meanwhile at Oklahoma...

That’s pretty weak. You’re not gonna play anywhere until next season, stay with the team and you might get another shot to improve your stock. Kelly Bryant did the same thing and the. Lawrence got hurt and Chase Brice became a Clemson hero

Two words:

Entitlement Syndrome.

I'm doubtful (wishful thinking?) he is stupid enough to jump ship and he will choose to stay through the rest of the season. His Dad has always seemed pretty level headed so hopefully there is some good advice being put into Rattler's mind. Here's a post I made in another thread a few days ago and people jumped all over me for it. I still feel the same way as I did when I originally said:

If he transfers he's a quitter. Pure and simple. I've always wished transfers the best of luck but not this guy if he cuts and runs now. He could really leave OU in a bind if he does it. Even if we never missed him it wouldn't put to rest how he pussed out after failing. Better to stay, man up and do what he can to help the TEAM. You really think the pro's wouldn't see his leaving OU now as a huge red flag? They'd laugh the guy out of the room if he goes that route.

Lol 😂 fuckin college kids, reminds me of ol what's his name that went from Nebraska to Louisville and then Rice cuz he had too much sand in the vagina

And then it bleeds over into the NFL.

Perfect example: Carson Wentz.

One of Big Game Bob’s faux pas was being loyal to a fault to upper classmen. Younger dudes with potential rarely saw the field unless we had blowouts.

LR is coming around I hope. Loyalties be damned, you put the best product on the field. Period. If a player isn’t meeting expectations then next man up be it qb or kickoff coverage.
Putting the best product on the field IS being loyal to ALL your players IMO. Players know damn well who the best ones are...even if they don't like to admit it.

If Caleb Williams is the best option at QB, Riley wouldn’t be doing his job if he sticks with Rattler.

Me and @Wild Turkey pretty much called Rattler being a bust from day one. His poor play isn’t surprising, but him up and leaving mid season would be. You gain nothing leaving the team in the middle of the season. It’s not like he can transfer to Arizona and play for them in two weeks

Yeah, I'm not opposed to kids leaving after the season is over...unless there are some weird shit going on and I doubt that is the case at all. Hell, OU has benefitted greatly from three QBs that didn't start there. Mayfield and Murray had "issues" at their first places. Hurst stuck it out at Bama and developed.

Rattler isn't getting wise counsel if he leaves. He needs to be a good teammate, work his ass off, and be ready. More than likely, Caleb is going to struggle and/or get dingged up somewhere along the rest of the season and he'll play.

I havent seen anything official that Spencer Rattler is leaving. His dad put out a statement that they will evaluate in January. Why would Rattler portal when he can sit back, still get some playing time, and get drafted after this year. There are some really bad starting quarterbacks in the Nfl.

That didn’t stop me from drafting him on my fantasy team because OU QBs typically put up big number by default. Once he survived last year I thought they would ride him this season.

I didn’t see a freshman coming into the TX game 21 points behind and making a comeback.

Now that I look back I was an idiot and should have known.

...we haven’t covered a point spread against a G6/P5 team until CW came into the RRSO.

I’m a solid CW believer and would prefer he be the main QB moving forward.

If SR leaves before season end it will hurt depth for sure, but if CW can stay healthy it makes no difference. His running ability is exactly what this offense needs right now.

I hope Caleb Williams is as great as we saw last Saturday.
But maybe he just had the game of his life and he never lives up to that again.

We don't really know that yet.
Plus, Rattler is just one play away from being the starter again.

Unless what Tim Shepherd is right then Rattler is already gone.

That would 100% pride on his part, and 0% reason.
CW could get taken out by TCU on the first play of the game.

If he's gone already, best of luck.

Next Man Up
