First KenPom of 2021-2022

Thanks for putting this together. I can't wait for a more normal OOC schedule this year. A 4 bid WCC would be incredible, and I think it's possible if San Francisco and LMU perform well OOC. Honestly it might be the 7th best league in the country this year behind the P5's and the Big East.

I think the WCC could make a case for the 7th best league this year. I'm not sure USF is a top 35 team honestly but it will be interesting to see how the league performs in their OOC.

I'm also excited to see what Portland looks like this year. The Pilots made a home run hire IMO and have a completely new roster (There's actually nobody from last year's team on the roster this year).

Portland brought in the guy from EWU correct? Yeah I thought that was a great hire too. I thought he'd be in the running for a better job. I have faith he can make them respectable again like they were when Reveno was there and maybe even a little better than that.

Correct, Legans. Gonzaga’s success is starting to trickle down to the rest of the WCC IMO. It’s gonna make Portlands rebuild tougher because this is as good as the WCC has been for a while

Yep, was thinking the same thing. Gonzaga has made the rest of the league better/more money. I think Portland getting a guy like Legans speaks to that. St Mary's has been a mainstay, and then San Francisco made a good hire when they had to replace Kyle Smith who went to Wazzu. LMU also made a really good hire, and they bring in two really good transfers. They were decent last year, I think they might be a fringe bubble team.

Only 2 Top 25 teams from the ACC but FIVE from the SEC and SIX B1G? There seems to be a lot of 2020 polling in the 2021 pre-season polling. I believe that will change after the season gets well underway.
kenpom and @ericd7633 are clueless

i'm gonna start my own college basketball rating system and put them outta business

Way to slow roll it.

It’s all about Kofi. If he’s gotten quicker and can guard better away from the hoop. The 3 point shooting could be much better than last year but we need to go to guy and that will take some time to figure out.

I can't remember his name, but that big transfer they got was intended to fill that role or even go twin towers. The ol' 3-2 offense.

Omar Payne from Florida. He’s pretty nasty around the rim and hitting jumpers now in practice. He was rated about the same as Kofi coming out of HS. With Curbello and co it’s going to be fun to watch this team evolve after Ayo

Especially considering the huge turd the BIG dropped in the tourney
while it is fun to talk shit about how bad the Big Ten performed in last year's tournament (the arrogance that was coming out of the Big Ten thread last year made it borderline unreadable), the NCAAT is still a single game elimination tournament. Take the results with a grain of salt until you get to the Final Four.

I think UNLV will be better than expected, but the entire team is new, except for 2 guys I think. Went to a practice, and they look like they are going to be fun to watch, and play hard as fuck. We will see though, as I tend to get my hopes destroyed every year.

MWC is a top heavy league. That makes it harder to keep moving up when you’re in the middle, like UNLV is. I think Kruger will be a good coach in the long run though
