Not sure if you've heard about it, but in an interview for The New Yorker, Paul McCartney said, "I’m not sure I should say it, but they’re [The Rolling Stones] a blues cover band, that’s sort of what the Stones are.” He did go on to say, "I think our [The Beatles] net was cast a bit wider than theirs.”

While I agree that The Beatles covered a broader range of musical styles than The Rolling Stones, I think that calling The Stones a "blues cover band" is absolutely fucking ridiculous.

McCartney is easily my favorite Beatle, but at this point, he's lost his fucking mind and needs to keep his mouth shut. Between this, the "John/Yoko broke up The Beatles" bit and his collaboration with Kim Kardashian's husband, it's clear that dementia is well set.

You seen the miniseries "McCartney 3, 2, 1" on Hulu? It's mainly about the Beatles and the creative process in making their songs. Just him and producer Rick Rubin. It's goo and apolitical. Paul is still sharp.

Just curious why you included the bold. I wouldn't assume that a series about the Beatles' creative process would be political. I don't have any idea what McCartney's political leanings are.

Anyway, he might still be sharp, but at best, he's making some bad decisions. Kinda looks like he's desperate for attention, which is odd.

Political in the sense of talking about other bands like comparisons to the Stones, that's all.

Yes, I would definitely be interested in that show. I love his songwriting. Maybe I'll have to get a Hulu account or borrow someone's login.

I take it back a little, he did speak favorably of the Beach Boys and especially Brian Wilson's songs on "Pet Sounds". That's where they got the inspiration for "Sgt. Pepper". The name of that album was prompted by a pepper shaker.

McCartney also said that "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" was based on a drawing made by John Lennon's 3-year-old son, Juliann. Though I don't remember him denying that LSD played a role in some of the songs.
