What program is the most polarizing this season?

UTEP

...they figured out how to cheat I guess?
Sumpin' happened, that's fo sho. We should follow SMU's formula.

I was watching SMU-Tulane last night. SMU has a lot of former OU guys along with a bunch of other Texas players that originally started out at P5 schools elsewhere and have come back to Texas. (OU makes sense since Riley's brother is the OC at SMU.)

Looked it up after the announcers mentioned it and saw players on the SMU roster from Az State (3), Florida, Nebraska, Arkansas (2), Oklahoma (2), A&M, West Virginia, Oregon, Auburn, Stanford, Missouri, Texas Tech, and Wazzou, 17 players from 13 P5 schools. Probably a good plan to follow. Hard to get 'em right out of high school but have 2nd chance if they can't cut it at the P5s or for some other reason.

I was going to say the same about Auburn fans. They seem to not be very intelligent and run here with stupid threads about stupid facts that if applied to their own team are actually worse. :noidea:

No one today fits the Miami bill. They were an arrogant program with a band wagon fanbase. The only program that I remember came close was the USC Pete Carroll teams. They had a lot of band wagon fans as well. Funny, though, that every USC fan after the Pete Carroll era have been legit fans. Even then, those USC band wagon fans did not match the level of Miami.

It is hard to replicate Miami's annoyance because they were good but had no real fanbase and were a program that came out of no where. They also embraced the villain/asshole reputation.

You might could argue Alabama but for every bandwagon loser that wasn't a fan prior to 2009, you tend to have another fan that is reasonable. Alabama also plays pretty clean on the field and doesn't have that "thug" mentality.

Just for the record Alabama is not polarizing they are just bat shit crazy assholes and everyone hates them.

Well that described Miami back in the day lol.

What was so polarizing about Miami was that 95% of their fanbase were bandwagoners that you knew wouldn't be around when things got rough.

Alabama fans are assholes from birth. It’s an incurable genetic issue.

I prefer "villian/asshole" arrogance to "holier than thou" arrogance. And we all know who those are, don't we?

I am assuming you are either talking about BYU or Texas.

Alabama probably does need to be mentioned in this thread.

I lived in Alabama for 3 years and I will say that the REAL fans that went to the school or at least know the traditions are actually pretty classy. I even dated a girl and watch the 2009 National Title game with her.

However, you have tons of redneck fans here in Tennessee who came out of the woodwork after 2009 as big Alabama fans. You see almost as much Alabama gear as Tennessee gear. Most of them have never even been to Tuscaloosa for a game and could not even tell you about basic Alabama traditions such as the song Rammer Jammer.

I will say this, though. Living in Alabama, I found Auburn fans to be bigger dipshits than Alabama which surprised me. Alabama is our rival while we rarely played Auburn. Yet Auburn fans have this massive hatred towards Tennessee. It is very similar to Georgia. I did a campus visit to UGA back when I was looking at schools and UGA seemed obsessed with Tennessee, more so than even Florida (this was back the early 2000s when both programs were still good).

To this day, it seems like Auburn and Georgia hate Tennessee more than Alabama and Florida fans and the latter two are supposed to be our big rivals.

If you're good you're gonna be polarizing. If you're really good you're gonna be polarizing even when you're bad.

As an Alabama fan I know we're polarizing, but traversing the country in my Bama gear folks were nothing but nice to me.

They probably just assumed you were retarded based on your attire and nobody is gonna be an asshole to a retard IRL
