TGIF

bought it new.

I work at home or drive it 30 miles to the airport where it sits for a week and then drive it 30 miles home. And recently before covid I'd usually take uber to the airport because parking was a total pain in the ass with all the construction they were doing.

time to look at tires though before it leaves me with a flat somewhere... most likely in my driveway before I get moving.

A 30 mile uber is probably pretty steep else I'd say the cost may be a wash considering parking

Yea....even at 16k tires that old may be getting long in the tooth

the uber option was cheaper than 5 days in short term parking. no fucking way I'm parking anywhere that requires a shuttle.

For all the things I don't like about Newark Airport, it's nice to be able to park about a 40-minute train ride away to the south for $20 for a week. Hell, the last time we flew, I still had an annual pass for the commuter lot, so I didn't have to pay anything extra for parking.

still pissed that Nashville ended the frequent parker pass. never had to pay for vacation parking until the fuckers ended that.

I started parking at The Parking Spot for work so I could gain points to use personally. For Puerto Rico, we'll just Uber, though, I think.... Pretty sure it'll be cheaper.

When I lived downtown I took the airport shuttle a couple times. It was like $2 to take you to the airport

Took Expedition to dealer after buying it from an acquaintance to see what kind of fix-up it would need: Seals for front and back axles, new S-belt. About $700.

Buddy tells me about a mechanic near his old workplace, turns out I knew him years ago. He fixed the heater core in my '79 Camaro....for nothing. "I learned something I didn't know before." I gave him a case or two of beer.

Take the Expi into his shop, ask him to look at it. Shows me axles, no new leaking. S-belt does need to be replaced. How much? "Oh, about $150."

Damn.

Going up half a flight of stairs would be annoying, I guess
I don’t like carrying food up/down stairs. Makes it more likely I’ll drop it.
