Maybe I would have liked it more if I had seen it in theater... My roku sound was atrocious so I couldn't hear it that well

I have a couple of buddies who were geeking out over it this weekend. They thought it was awesome, but they also read the book and saw the original movie and liked those.

I've never seen/read any of it. Seems like Star Trek shit to me.

my first time reading it I didn't fully get it...so gave it another go years later. Much better.

I didn't read any more of the series though

I haven't read the book nor seen the original so I guess I can't say I truly know what it's about/if it is truly good or not.. I wasn't as impressed as I thought i'd be though..

IMO, the first book is much more of an adventure book. The subsequent books are more political intrigue. The last couple get more philosophical than most like.

Sounds like my first go at Catch-22. First started it in 7th grade study hall. Didn't quite get it.
