So this is becoming a real thing and I've asked around and nobody knows if Harsin has been vaccinated or not with it being about 50/50. What is known is that he did just recently had COVID so he has the antibodies which honestly makes him more protected than a vaccinated person. I just cannot imagine a scenario where Auburn fires Harsin for not getting vaccinated and the President and Board of Trustees surviving it. I watch for Governor Kay Ivy (Auburn grad) to step in and disallow mandates to fix this but you never know. My God if Bruce Pearl isn't vaccinated and they fire him I might riot.

Auburn announced on Friday that all university employees will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by Dec. 8 or else be subject to termination. Harsin, who previously declined to disclose his vaccination status at SEC Media Days in July, when he said it was a deeply personal decision for everyone, was asked again Monday during his weekly press conference whether he has received the vaccine and, if not, whether he plans to comply with the school’s mandate prior to the deadline.

Auburn considers someone to be fully vaccinated two weeks after they have received the second dose of a two-dose series or two weeks after receiving a one-dose shot.

“I’m aware of the new policy,” Harsin said. “I appreciate you have to ask the question and understand it.... It doesn’t change the fact I’m not going to discuss any individual’s status on the vaccine, including my own.”

Gotta worry about the staff as well.

no it doesnt and people need to stop spreading this missinformation. it can provide more but that makes a person the exception not the rule. it does provide some protection but not necessarily more

That's the weird thing I'm more intrigued than worried.

The state of Alabama is the last place I saw this playing out and I don't really believe any of the coaches will actually lose their jobs because there will be lawsuits and all kinds of shit going down in the legislature. The interesting part will be where this came from to see if President Gogue is acting on his own as a political statement, did the faculty push the issue, or what is really going on.

I really just see this as political theater to entertain me.

So you're saying a vaccinated person is more protected than a person that just had COVID and has the antibodies?

as well he shouldnt discuss anyone else as thats a HIPAA violation. and while his own is his decision to discuss or not, why is it such an issue for people? this isnt talking about something like a vasectomy

having antibodies at an unkown amount that not each and every person will have the same. also contention as to the life of natural antibodies as there is about vaccines. how long will those last?
then there are the variant covid strains like Delta and how the antibodies are less likely to fight it the same.

Here it comes.

I would almost put money that the fix was in to get Auburn to do this to sway public opinion and support to ban mandates. They couldn't do it to Nick because he has been vaccinated.

This will be fun to watch and see people get outraged.

Yes or no dipshit.

You know what I'll answer and it is that you are as protected if you had COVID as you are if you were only vaccinated. Does it offer complete protection, no but there is no scientific proof that you should get vaccinated if you have had COVID.

I'm not anti-vax, in fact I'm had both my shots and a booster (and I wasn't in the group to get the booster but slipped in) and support everyone doing the same. However, I get if you had it and don't want to get the vaccine until your immunity wears down and can't argue that isn't the thing to do.

How many pages until this ends up in the PF like the last one?

the point is though natural antibodies are just as unkown lifespan as the vaccines. that why there have been repeat cases in a few months time.

So basically they are the same and you just arguing to argue.

If the man had COVID there zero reason to require him to get vaccinated for at least 6 months.

Of course you want to see him fired because you hate college football.

do you not understand that there is just as likeliness of his antibodies lasting 6 months or longer as there is for his antibodies to only last 3 months or even less.

And the vaccine is different?
