B1G November round-robin discussion ...

It is just tough to gauge OSU. Outside of Oregon, they have literally played trash. Who is the best team they played after Oregon? Minnesota? Tulsa? Rutgers? Maryland? Akron? Indiana? Tulsa, quite possibly, could be the 2nd best team they've played so far this year.

So we really don't know what you will get from OSU once they play a team with an ounce of defense or a team who can play physical and control the line of scrimmage. No doubt they have looked dominate, but they could have started their 2nd string against the schedule they've played and have the exact same record.

You can say the same thing about Michigan.

Who have they played? Washington was their main OOC game and they are terrible. Wisconsin sucks this year.

Ohio State has looked a lot better against the "bad" teams than the other B1G teams.

That’s fair but you could say that about Michigan and Sparty as well. And they’ve looked much less dominant

I think the B1G, as a whole, is smoke and mirrors with all the top 10 teams. I don't think UM or MSU are legit top 10 teams, they are simply both undefeated with the schedule they've played. I think OSU is the most talented team in the B1G, but that is based mostly on their offense. I think their defense is going to get absolutely torched by any team who can play physical up front and can throw the ball at all.
I'd love to see Bama and OSU play this year. Both teams would probably score in the 60's. It is why I think Georgia is on a completely different level than any team, as they will punish both teams running the ball (as they are much more physical than both Bama and OSU up front) and they have, by far, the best defense in CFB and it isn't even remotely close.

It is no disrespect to OSU -- i think they are probably the 3rd best team in CFB. They just lack any difference makers at DE or LB spots. They don't have the legit lockdown CB they've had for many, many years.

You won't hear me saying UM or MSU are world beaters. If you ask any fan of either team and you won't find a single one who thought either team would be 7-0 right now.

No, they haven’t.

Stop shoehorning that word into statements it doesn’t belong.
The "best team" OSU has played is actually Minnesota, who put up 30 points on OSU. This is the same Minnesota who only scored 10 points on Bowling Green, who is 0-4 in the MAC.

So yes -- OSU has played a trash schedule outside of Oregon.

That‘s better. Nice job, kiddo.

Right but if you aren’t high on UM/MSU that would make Ohio State the favorite in the Big Ten, which was my original point

I'm not high on any of them actually. I think this is the worst OSU team they've had in quite some time. Their defense has no game changers at any level like they have had in the past. There are no Bosa brother, no Chase Young, no lockdown CB like Okudah, Lattimore or Ward.

I'm not high on UM or MSU, but both run the ball very well and play physical upfront, which OSU does not do well against -- the reason I still think OSU will win the B1G is the WR group they have. If they can limit the pressure and give Stroud time to throw -- they will pick them apart. It remains to be seen though, as we haven't seen OSU play a team with a pulse on defense.

Plus, it will come down to coaching and adjustments. I feel like this is where the Buckeyes are pretty well versed. I hate the way Harbaugh's folks don't make adjustments in the big games until too late or not at all.

Defensively they aren’t impressive but their offense should be enough to lap the rest of the Big Ten IMO

But Ohio State didn't think he was as good as Day.

Ryan Day has worked out pretty well for Ohio State so that’s not necessarily a knock on him

True. But Day didn't exactly inherit a dumpster fire from Urban like the one he left at Florida.

That’s true but I’ve seen coaches crash and burn after being set up in great situations

It will all play itself out or so that's what many say. Beating Western Kentucky, Rutgers, Youngstown State, and Washington ain't exactly doing it for me. Yeah you know who you two are. And having Army hang 56 on you, the most Army has scored against any team this season is making that other undefeated team look a little suspect at the moment. And Norfolk State and Old Dominion isn't making ya look great either. It's gonna be a lot of B1G teams beating each other up in the next three weeks. I say a team or two is going to show Wake the bottom of or outside of the top 25 also.

Tough to argue that with how they've played lately -- will be interesting to see what Stroud looks like when he faces any type of pressure and he isn't throwing to WR's that are open by 10 yards.

Will also be interesting to see if MSU, UM or PSU can pressure him or limit the WR's.

Ohio State is hitting its stride and has a team that's been there before. They're probably the favorite.

An undefeated Ohio State and Michigan would be fun, but it would be pandemonium if anyone undefeated UM still loses to Ohio State.
