Iowa @ Wisconsin Week

Its actually not that strange . ISU was a 7 pt favorite over OKST just lasr weekend ( yes i know they were getting 1 vote but still )

I think i read its heppened like 16 times in the last 5 years
Really? I stand corrected.

It was simply "unranked" teams being favored over top 10 teams so im not sure how many times a team not receiving votes has been favored but the reality is if Wisky had played a normal schedule as opposed to 3 top 20 teams their first 7 theyd likely be ranked or close to it so im pretty sure theyd be a home favorite over a lot of ranked teams

interesting game in B1GW

Wisconsin loses, they're pretty much out of the running

They win, the chaos continues

I have no idea on this game. I trust Petras a bit more than Mertz

Mertz turns it overs. Iowa thrives on Turnovers

both teams have good defenses and poor offenses

I'm going to give slight edge to Iowa, 17-14.

Yep. Although Wisconsin seems to turn the ball over a lot, they also(until Purdue) don't force a lot of turnovers. That is worrisome with that defense. Plus, they take way too many penalties.

Flip of the coin although my heart is with the Badgers

Here are a few things I have noticed about Iowa's defense.

They don't always go after the QB. Sometimes they just contain him, or stay in position for a screen. They did it with Clifford, which during that time, Clifford got to the point where he was able to pass good. When they started rushing him, that is where he found holes and took off running.

They are excellent at stopping the run. It has always been a big part of Norm Parker's and Phil Parker's defense strategy. Always made for interesting matchups with Wisconsin, as they have had great OLs and bruiser backs that made for some great impacts.

I would say Iowa's pass coverage is probably overrated. I would often think Iowa has one of the best pass coverages and then see they are ways down on allowed passing yards and such. What it is that makes them special is they are always positioned right for mistakes. The offense almost doesn't want to over- or under-throw. They wouldn't want the ball to pop up in the air. The offense has to play near perfect to make Iowa's defense look bad, which Purdue did.

Fancy garden hose
I was searching for something to make fun of Wisconsin and something I came across said to ask someone from Wisconsin what a bubbler is lol.

So I had to find out. What makes it fancy?

Bubbler is a water fountain. I grew up drinking out of garden hoses. Put a fancy spout on it...

Seriously, when was the last time a team with no votes in the AP or Coaches polls favored over a Top 10 team?
If Wisconsin doesn't turn the ball over 4 or 5 times -- they win the game. Iowa's offense makes Wisconsin's offense look like a juggernaut.

Hell - if Wisconsin doesn't turn the ball over -- I can see Wisconsin winning this game quite easily.
