There were games during that stretch that were fantastic. Knock down drag outs. The cigar game. Playing at Auburn, there was a huge fire right outside the stadium. Burning down the house but fuck it, play ball.
I had forgotten about Eddie Fuller being there. Got to see him play hs football. At the time, they were in the same district as my hs, Jennings Bulldogs

I was at the game in Auburn when the Barn (wooden structure from the 1950s that the gymnastic team used) went up in flames and it looked like a portion of the stadium was on fire. It was crazy how high those flames shot up and all because so dumbass didn't properly take care of his Bar BQ grill.

My favorite was this game:



This one cost Curley Hallman his job.
