Patterson has been pretty good at TCU, 181-79 with eleven 10+ win seasons with a 11-6 bowl record.

What has happened lately that caused the drop? It's more than just the 'Big12 is tougher than the MWC', Patterson has had success in the Big12 as well with 3 seasons with 11 or more wins. Is he just tired of the grind?

Meh, I still don't buy that. Not like everyone didn't try to poach Texas every year anyway. Plus if it affected everyone in the Big12 since the SEC now has a foothold, then TCU should still be doing well in the Big12 or at least better than recently.

yeah, TCU had an 11 win season five years after A&M joined the SEC.

most likely reason is that Patterson has gotten older, perhaps too comfortable + TCU doesn't sell itself

And there sits Mike Gundy, swearing he's a Cowboy for life. But let's see what happens if someone like LSU makes him an offer. Think about it: that might be 5 coaches leaving the conference, not to mention Lincoln Riley will be gone soon enough. If a big part of those "what-ifs" does happen, what shape does Bowlsby think the conference is REALLY in? And who believes Luke Fickell will stay at Cincinnati when a better opportunity presents itself? Wow. Who wants to predict what shape the Big Whatever is in within 5 years?

Matt Campbell needs to make the move this year if he gets the opportunity.

Gundy ain’t going anywhere as I don‘t think he is worth dealing with.

Mel Tucker seems to be the guy for LSU so I’m not sure Aranda gets a call this year.

I think Franklin goes to USC or gets a big bump at PSU and if he goes Fickell will take that job. Fickell needs to make the move after this year because it’s going to be tough to replace Riddle.
