Guess the CFP Top 25

putting Alabama in in 2017 wasnt about the SEC as much as it was the names Alabama and Saban. prior 2 years of Champion and runner up
So Auburn beats Georgia in 2017 do you think they get in? They would have been SEC Champion.

yes but they were already ranked #2 at 10-2.

if they win out Im not saying its impossible for them to get in but i woulndt say its a guarantee either

Point is they shouldn’t have been #2 with two loses. So why were they? Simple they beat Alabama and Georgia and that catapulted them to the top.

It mattered who they beat and the conference they played in. If they do it this year (which they won’t) it would be the same.

So you agree with Alabama going to the NCG in 2011 because they won the game?
Meh that was before the CFP...things worked differently and it was pretty bad. This 4 teamer isn't perfect either but makes a hell of a lot more sense than the BCS

maybe, different committee different priorities and criteria

Are you suggesting the committee has a set agenda? What are these different priorities and criteria you mentioned?

And your loss to Michigan State in 2015 kept Ohio State out of the CCG, you have that going for you.

Im Not Even Sorry Friends Tv GIF

Wait til next week. The committee will tell you
I think @OlyDuck has some inside info. It's obvious he is convinced this year's committee is going to deviate from the criteria and priorities that previous committees had.

I mean it makes total sense that the committee would completely ditch the main priority for getting the best 4 teams in the playoff...right?

How am I wrong? That isn't pro SEC West it's anti-Big 12 and the competition. I mean you aren't going to argue that you guys are leaving stiffer competition in the Big 12 than you will get in your new league are you?
“Had nothing to do with the sec”
*mentions Sec explicitly.
still argues

we got a genius here

I wasn't assuming you were pushing cincy, I was criticizing Notre Dame at 10...that's the real joke. The only reason Cincy is even in the discussion is because they beat a perennially overrated Notre Dame. Notre Dame was a joke at 12 when they played Cincy and even more of a joke at 10. It is no surprise that Notre Dame took the easy out and half assed joined the ACC, they would get rolled in every other conference. I think Cincy is a decent team, just not a playoff team they should be at 10. Notre Dame on the other hand is barely a top 25 team. There is no one in the top 10 that wouldn't smoke them and few in the top 25 who wouldn't be competitive. The only top 25 team you've beaten you needed 3 DST touchdowns to beat...and let's not pretend the ND D was the reason for those. Notre Dame would need the wheels to fall off everyone's wagon to make the playoffs and if they did they would be a 3 touchdown dog to whoever they played....and not cover.
.
I'm no Mrs State honk...they just happened to be the one team you were disparaging among about 20 teams I would take straight up on a neutral vs Notre Dame.

ND by no means is a great team this year. But every team behind them had flaws in their resume/play. Oklahoma State has beaten Missouri State, Tulsa, Boise State and Texas all by less than 8. Auburn had 2 losses, played like crap against Ga State beat LSU by 5. A&M has 2 losses, beat Colorado by 3.

If you're going to say ND is overrated, you have to have someone ranked 10th. I'd be okay with Baylor being ahead but outside of that, nobody else really deserves it IMO.

If OU is gonna get dinged for style points, then other teams should as well.

ND struggled with VT, FSU and Toledo and was beaten by a G5 team. Should they be in front of an undefeated P5 team? I personally don’t think so. Should Cincy be getting so much love for their signature win? Again, I disagree.

OU doesn’t belong in 4th or 5th right now for sure. Our OOC opponents really suck this year and our conference slate is back-loaded.

I think his point is who are you going to put in front of him?

Baylor and Oklahoma State are the only real candidates right now and if they take care of business they will move ahead of them anyway. ND has a crappy schedule and they should win out but there isn't current data to move them....yet.

Half the teams that are currently undefeated will lose.
Half the teams currently with 1 loss will lose again.

Not sure why everyone is in such a hurry.

It's going to be a great 4 week ending to the season.
Always is.

This.

What you think, what I think, what occupant thinks, what hammer thinks what day man thinks what droider thinks and so on would deviate so a committee with condaleeza rice may have a different feel and opinions than one with tyrone willingham

QUESTION:

Should recent results outweigh earlier results?

Body of work must matter to some degree, that can't be denied.

Yeah, we did struggle against those teams. My point is teams behind ND have struggled with inferior competition as well. I thought ND might be ahead of Wake, but Wake being ahead is certainly fine with me, as I was just guessing what they were going to do. People can call ND overrated all they want, that's fine, but if people(not saying you) are going to do it, you have to have a replacement team.

I don't think Cincy is getting a ton love for the win against ND. If they were they'd be ahead of Oregon/Ohio State duo IMO.
