Friday morning, too much coffee

Well I don't think there is anything they can do to get her out...but videoing it would be far from my mind. I'd be like Ruggs and sobbing my eyes out or just completely out of it

a couple of people tried to get her out but she was pinned in the car. Tragically the heat got so intense they had to stop their efforts. The details are absolutely horrific. I can’t even imagine what the parents are going thru.

I just heard another official account that both vehicles traveled over 500 feet after impact. That’s insane!

On the flip side, the existence of video on people’s phones has allowed a lot more people to get arrested for crimes. I’m not sure I’d go directly to video something, but if there was nothing I could do, I might pull out the phone if I thought there was something that could be used as evidence.

Especially as a total bystander.

i said earlier that I travel that road a lot. I was by there earlier today. I saw the makeshift memorial on the side of the road. I’ve already described Rainbow Blvd. The video of his car posted above is on rainbow just south of where it intersects with Tropicana. Tropicana is another major street. He must have seen he had a green light as he approached the intersection with Tropicana and figured he had a lot more road till the next major intersection at Flamingo or he was trying to “make the light” at Tropicana. The first minor intersection north of Tropicana is called Spring Valley Parkway. It’s a very small street but there’s a traffic signal there. I think the other driver was stopped at that traffic signal when he slammed into her. The Reddit video I posted earlier really gives you a sense of how wide that road is. You can see the median in the middle. There’s an equal amount of lanes on the other side of that median.

i don't think i've ever seen a car in flames like that outside of the movies. when it was first reported i assumed they were dead on impact, but hearing there were screams coming from the car, man, that's fucked up.

also, if drove that drunk into someone at those speeds that a car was on fire with someone screaming inside, you best believe i'd kill myself trying to get them out.

I mean, I know I'm know saint. I got two underage drinking charges that could have easily been DUIs before I turned 21 (hence the underage drinking charges). We used to booze and cruise because that was the thing to do. I definitely lucked out that's all it came to at the time. The first time, I ended up partying at someones (I worked with him for my full time summer job at 18) house (was well drunk before going there) woke up weirded out as one does when they drink as much as i did back then in an alien environment. somehow made my way to my car and down the very narrow one way bridge towards my house (the cats house I was at was like 1.5 miles away from my house at best), and I decided that was enough and went back to sleep. had some good tunes going, which eventually stopped when the battery died, kept the keys in the ignition but didn't work it right and had a nice cascade of puke on the driver side door. the officer that woke me up was cool about it. if it was the second officer on scene i probably would have been more fucked, some of the cops in the area were huge dicks. Underage was much better than a DUI. But that's how drunk I could get back as an 18 year old. End up at a cats place for a night cap (it's weird thinking about it now, this guy was like 20 maybe and I graduated with his brother that both lived there, don't know where his parents went), came to just enough to think, shit i have to go to work tomorrow and go home to get some sleep, while also thinking midway there, nah.

So, my second underage was on me more than anything. Again, just a typical booze and cruise day. Went to Sheetz, I was very deep in my cup as it were. Ordered a hoagie with the works. Was putting candy bars, cherry soda, etc, in my shorts in the meantime, shit was dropping like flies, i was doing a really poor job of it, wasn't at my best (I will say, I stole from that store before with ease when soberish, but that's neither here nor there). rather than pay for the $18 bucks of food i was being called out for and probably didn't have on me just jet. dropped off my friends with me that pretty much ghosted me afterwards, so that was good to know. hung out at this kids place down the road that always had cats in his garage as a hangout for a couple hours. like man, weird night. should have probably stayed there, as when I turned onto my street there were 3 cop cars waiting to arrest me (talk about a slow news day). again, you already know I only got an underage for it, my dad did hit me on that one when i woke him up (yeah, some cops would like to talk to you). And that's the last time I got an underage/dui...
