Who is the next up and coming head coach

I’m in the camp that hasn’t turned on our AD yet, but going with the least productive option that’s possible here isn’t helping.
 
Lake will not be made available to the media this week. Hopefully he just takes his ball and goes home.
 
A P5 has to give Fickell a chance.

Other than established elite P5 coaches...... Retreads, coordinators, and G5 HC's are all a crapshoot.
The odds of getting another Urbs from mid-major Utah (like Florida did) are no different today than back then.

Fickell did go (6-7) at Ohio St when he was interim back in 2011. I'd think he's more experienced now.

Fickell is going to be a P5 coach pretty soon with Cincinnati

To be fair, nobody was going to do any better that year in that situation.

6 of those 7 losses were by 7 points or under too.
 
Give Skip Holtz a call, see how many programs one man can coach.

Nobody was beating Miami, Michigan State, Nebraska, Purdue, Penn State, Michigan or Florida in Miami, Columbus, Lincoln, West Lafayette, Columbus, Ann Arbor or Jacksonville those nights.

I’m thinking he probably saw this shitstorm brewing and that contributed to him leaving in the first place.

well he definitely has brought it here too :(
 
So, saw the idea floated that the suspension is just a bandaid so they can get their legal shit together for the firing, also saw the claim that taking the action of suspending him for the incident pretty much takes away any possibility of firing him for cause.

Can't blame him. Unless a guy really enjoys wallowing in the cesspool that is recruiting, why would anyone want a college job over a NFL one?

Yeah, don’t know what that’s about. He was never anything but a great defensive coordinator. I’ll never trust a Sark led program until he can prove he should be trusted.

i feel like it would be unlikely for him to leave Oregon State for another college unless he routed through the NFL. thats his school

UW is a prideful law school, if the first part of your post was/is their intentions and the second part of your post is the actual results, then UW is a giant clown school at that point.

Who knows though. I don’t see why some kind of putative action necessarily takes away the firing for cause option. Maybe they just aren’t interested in going that route, maybe they’re negotiating a lower buyout with him. Who really knows what’s going on behind the scenes right now. But I don’t see how he’s our coach next year with this, on top of the suckage.
