Eliminate one place

Peace out, Burger King! (haven't eaten there in a decade and that was a disaster)
Hard one.

1 - Chipotle is overpriced and it's too scary to order anything since employees think handwashing is optional.
2 - McDonald's food all tastes flavorless like it's been left out at room temp for days before heating. Fries are good though.
3 - Burger King is greasy and was never interesting. Hard to find a franchise near me, so I guess others agree.
4 - Chick Fil-A is alright, but how long before one suffers menu fatigue?
5 - Taco Bell is about as unauthentic as Mexican (or even Tex-Mex) food could be.
6 - Subway's smell puts me off. As soon as I walk by it, it wafts over and isn't appetizing.
7 - Starbucks isn't real coffee. Sweetened, overpriced and encourages poser douchebags... with coffee?
8 - KFC just hasn't updated itself well in years. As fried chicken goes, it's sub-par. Plus, the Colonel looks like a white supremacist.
9 - Dominoes is literally worse than any other mass market pizza available. Except Papa Johns.

I guess Starbucks gets voted off the island. I'd lose zero sleep because coffee's everywhere and I never look for that crap.

And most people don't have an expense account to pay for it.

95% of my starbucks purchases are paid for by somebody else...

Still, if they didn't exist, getting coffee while traveling would be sad.

There was a Peet's in Madison near my one client right across the street from a Starbucks and I always chose Peet's over starbucks, but I guess I was one of the few because Peet's closed while starbucks would have lines out the door.

Based on the food it would be Taco Bell easily. But, just based on service along I have to pick BK. Not sure if that’s just local to me but about six of them near me had been tried in the past and all had the most atrocious service I’ve ever had.

Been flat out done with them for at least 6-7 years.

Starbucks... But then again, I don't drink coffee much anyway. And when I do, it's always away from home since I don't have coffee at my place. But it IS kinda fun to go into a SB every now & then and order just a regular "black" coffee, no cream or sugar and the place goes almost silent and the "baristas" stop & go, "WUT?"!

Worth the "price of admission" just for the giggles! :dhd:

Haven't eaten at any one of those places listed in years!

venti pike, no room, right @williewilliejuan ...

When you have 2 truck stops closer than any fast food joint, I guess you learn to drink your own coffee.

the BK by me is good and I'll pick it up every once in a while, but Culver's, Wendy's and 5 Guys are usually chosen over BK when getting fast food burgers.

I don't get starbucks often at home. Wife and kid wanted peppermint mocha/hot chocolate the other day and I just drank the coffee from the pot at home. No need for Starbucks when I have my own. BUUUUUUT, I wouldn't drink hotel coffee at most places if you paid me. So Starbucks is critical for those that journey beyond their home town.

Yep. That’s how you order it. You also get the added satisfaction of not actually getting the barista to make your order. The cashier just fills it for you.
One time I ordered that and an ice water and waited 15 minutes for my kid's ice water to process through the line of frapachinos. Should have just spend the $4 on the bottle from the case.

:dhd: Well... obviously, I am NOT up on the SB lingo! :beer2:
Left to my own devices, I’d rarely go there. My family dynamic is such that it is literally impossible for all of us to have breakfast together Monday - Saturday. We typically do something on Sunday. Sometimes, I break out the griddle and make a big breakfast. Sometimes, we go over to the closest donut place. Sometimes, it’s Starbucks. I’d say I go once or twice a month.

The only only ones that I personally visit with any regularity are Chick-Fil-A (spicy southwest salad), and Chipotle (barbacoa burrito in a bowl).

Starbucks is the one that I would never go into if it were up to me (the last time I went to one, I was gay for three days), but my daughter loves them, so I wouldn't want her to be disappointed. Kids also like Chick-Fil-A and Mc D's. All the others can fuck off.

Sunday's breakfast was Starbucks in the Munson household as well. Kid loves the egg bites and double smoked bacon and egg sandwich.

So glad they have mobile ordering so I can skip the giant line.

When the kids were in grade school, Dunkin Donuts doughnut holes was the Sunday morning staple. Still made my own coffee.

Those three days were fabulous, Champ.

Chipotle or Starbucks

I used to be able to drink Dunkin coffee, now I'd compare it to light beer...

Agreed. No idea why more people don’t do that. The place I have my dogs groomed is literally behind a Starbucks. You have to walk across the drive through line to get into the groomer’s place. I have never been there when there wasn’t at least a half dozen cars lined up in the drive through.
