Can we stop pretending that Bama is a great team now?

I wasn’t even trying to hook anything. It was just a goofy comment that was a throw away.

I feel like I’ve committed child abuse.
More likely taking advantage of the mentally impaired

If Saban actually read Twitter I'd be on there shit talking about him being washed up and done. 'He's old, frail and finished!' Nothing seems to get him motivated as much as defiance. It's a trait all successful people seem to share in common, so much so as a manager I test guys by seeing how they react to negative criticism. If they get pissed off and get better they're definitely keepers and I invest in them.

Without a doubt. No coach has adapter to the evolution of the game better than Saban. You know he’d love to run a ground and pound offense and play great defense and win every game 24-10, but then he saw what Manziel, Malzahn and Ohio State were doing and he changed his offense. Wasn’t overnight, but it was pretty damn quick
Yep and he'd love to have those run stop first LBs. He told his coaches they were going to have to get LBs that could cover in space because he saw the offenses were putting those run stop LBs where they had to cover in space. He'll adjust instead of just going with his preferences. Doesn't mean he gave up on defense. In today's game, you can play good defense and still give up some yards and points.

OK, I’ll play the game. So, I would say that our offense & defense coordinators suck ass. Saban is not in the day to day coaching anymore. There may have been a time that he was but he just manages his coaching staff now. Seems like we trade coordinators out just about every year with Pete Golding being the longest defensive coordinator we’ve had in a while.

We have a very young team, we lost a lot to the NFL. We are definitely not the number two team in the nation. As of right now my expectations are just getting to Atlanta and getting our ass beat by Georgia. If that happens, I’ll look forward
to next year and hope that both O’Brien and Golding are gone.

carry-on….
Are the players so good they can overcome that poor coaching or is it going to catch up with them? ala A&M?

I don't know... I don't think a team of kids are so good they don't need coaching. The kids are not calling the plays out there.

It may not be Bama's year this year.

He's done a great job with that... But To'oto'o is a little too light at LB... I'd love to see that kids lose just a little weight & become a strong safety

No doubt coaching is critical. But super talent can overcome and/or cover up some coaching sins. Happens a lot but it usually catches up with them at some point.

Well at this point Bama (we) can't run block, we can't pass block, our RB's have a hard time picking up the blitz. We don't seem to run crisp routes/no separation. The defense doesn't have much of a pass rush, they have a hard time stopping the run (it used to be THOU SHALT NOT RUN!!!) & those underneath routes seem to be open all day.

We go 3 & out with 3 passing plays. We take a time out or there is a penalty but we can't get the play called in time, so delay of game.

Saban has been an asset at Alabama, his coaching staff not so much from time to time. Defense wins championships & our D is not meeting spec.

I think he's a good size for a modern LB. The name of the game is being able to cover space. An issue I have with him is he doesn't wrap up. He gets into position and then doesn't close the deal. He has a tendency to lead with his shoulder instead of grabbing a guy and putting him on the ground.
