Oklahoma to Baton Rouge......

Riley's set at OU. Why he would jump to LSU, (especially when he would have to turn around and coach against Oklahoma) is beyond me. I do find the comment interesting where Castiglione is supposedly manning up about being able to hire someone even better. That's really interesting. Bob Stoops pulled that a couple of times and Boren/Castiglione fell over themselves to keep him. The third time it came up, the response was "Good luck!".....................and Stoops stayed. Experience is a great teacher.

Reasons I would think Riley would jump to LSU;
Better chance of winning it all.

An Oklahoma in the SEC doesn't have as good or better chance of winning a NC as LSU does in the SEC? Maybe if OU was still in the Big 12 but we're leaving with you guys ASAP to get out of this conference. I'd bet $$$ on Oklahoma vs LSU over the long haul when we're on a level playing field. OU has an edge in so many areas.

As bad as Texas is right now, I'd bet on UT vs LSU over the long haul.

What a dumbass. Why doesn't he just go to some place for a money grab?

LSU needs a coach that has helped pull a program out of the dumps

A coach with experience at the highest levels of college football, even NFL coaching experiencing

A coach with a butt for a chin

i'm pretty sure LSU could outbid ou for Lincoln if it came to that, but again.. I think he has a better shot winning it all at LSU than at ou. But who knows, maybe this team can get it done this season, or next

Buddy, I love my horns but I would take LSU.. the last three coaches have won titles there.. and 2 of them weren't exactly brainiacs. LSU being the only P5 school in the state ensures that it's bluechips stay home.

So they had the actual guy who made this flight on the radio, kind of as a joke. He and his wife were returning home from visiting their daughter who goes to OU. They had their dog with them. The guy agreed with the suggestion to change the dogs name to Lincoln Riley to help with future rumors. It comes down to this, no OU coach has ever left the program for a job at another college, it’s not happening.

You're right about the recent NC's but if Texas is conceding the future to LSU then you guys have rocks in your head for moving to the SEC. A flagship school in a state that produces the most talent in the country has become _________________. What's the word? Or the right phrase? I'm the first person to give LSU its due for having some great teams but seriously. LSU will be a better football school than Texas over the next 20-25 years? If that's the case you should have stayed in the Big 12, improved a bit and then enjoyed winning an occasional conference championship. But if Texas' football program won't be as good as LSU's, then going to an extremely competitive SEC is just going to give Texas a whole lot of 8-4 seasons.......or worse some years.

Yes. Just like the previous 25 years.
You could be right. But if you are, what the hell is Texas thinking? They're morons if they (a) don't really believe they can "get back" in the SEC and accomplish things like LSU has been able to do or (b) are deluded into thinking somehow it's all going to work out just because they're Texas. Wow. I have confidence OU can do fine in the SEC compared to the other schools but if Texas doesn't think they can do that too, they should have stayed in the Big 12 and lived with their precious LHN, improved a bit and at least have a fighting chance of winning an occasional conference championship.
