?

Where is that poll? His poll had Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio State in that order:

What sense does it make that ANY BIg12 team has a tougher schedule than Nebraska or any B1G team really, let alone 3 Big12 teams?

We have played 4 top 10 teams with 2 top 20 teams remaining.

Good losses.
I don't dispute any losses, but the FACT is that we have played tougher teams than all of those Big12 teams and I would bet, probably even more listed above them.

1 discrepancy brings the whole thing into question.

I haven't looked, but is it possible your OOC was so weak it dragged down the rest of your schedule?

OOC wasn't great, but it wasn't the worst

Buffalo (4-6)
Fordham (6-4) **FCS
@Oklahoma (9-1)

and it shouldn't matter. It is Strength Of Schedule, not Strength Of Non-con.

We played Oklahoma, Michigan, Michigan St, Ohio St, and Purdue with Wisconsin and Iowa left. I mean, there really is no question.

Bingo !!

Nebraska missed up by scheduling Oklahoma-lite instead of #4 Oklahoma State

Too strong a penalty for playing an FCS team?

The SEC should suffer the same penalty.

I don't know his metrics for determining SOS so it is one algorithm. Not an issue.

This is what you're looking for: BCF Toys - 2021 FEI Ratings
Nebraska #2 SOS (ALS: expected number of losses an average team would have against the schedule to date)

Buffalo is ranked 117
Fordham is ranked 188

That's pretty much the reason.
