Michigan State will play themselves out of the playoff discussions on Saturday. But it’s crazy that the joke of “well team A’s loss to team B is better than team B’s loss so team A should be ranked higher” is the reality we live in.

Change reality? How? Michigan State ACTUALLY beat them. If things that actually happen do not matter to the committee then winning out shouldn’t matter because Michigan is OBVIOUSLY the better team.

None of the “changes the polls”. How do we “change the polls”? They determine who gets to play and win a national championship. If you don’t care about who wins, why the hell do you watch?

I don't. The polls are, quoting Shakespeare, "full of sound and fury, signifying nothing". Your fandom makes MSU #1 to you. That is your reality. Abide.

At this point I think MSU's schedule is the biggest thing holding them back. MSU has played exactly 3 teams who are currently above .500, Western Kentucky, Purdue and Michigan. And they lost to currently unranked Purdue. I think MSU could have gone to the playoff had they not lost to Purdue. They'd be able to lose to OSU, beat PSU and get in IMO. But with these final two games, I could very easily see MSU going 0-2 in these final games and ending 9-3 on the year.
