A CFP Reflection. Some Random Thoughts.

There was a decent chance OU would have been left out this year even if they ran the table in the B12.
Yep. Same for Wake in the ACC. So I repeat the question. Are they really in a P5 conference if they go through it undefeated and are not included in the CFP? If both went undefeated and weren't included, they are essentially Cincy/AAC.

Oklahoma’s schedule was backloaded like MSU and Ohio State’s schedules were

Schedule better teams.

If Bama beats UGA in the SEC CCG, both are in, guaranteed. That leaves only 2 spots left. If Oregon, Ohio State (or Michigan for that matter), and Cincy all win out (and Notre Dame wins out), there's a good chance an undefeated OU gets left out of the CFP and may not even get higher than 6th in the final rankings.

Doesn't matter now, but it was definitely a possibility.

So the Big 12 and ACC are the same as the AAC. Right?

One season does not make a conference. Not during CFP era, but I believe Auburn went undefeated one season, and got passed over for Southern Cal vs. Oklahoma National Title game. Does this mean SEC was not P5 that season?
