Such a broad stoke there....
I still remember post-Bear Bryant Alabama football. Perkins, Curry, Stallings (he was the bright spot), Dubose, Franchione & Shula. Bama was a middle of the road team, nothing special except for a Historic pedigree. I would go to games in the late 80's & early 90's, the fan base was older & I didn't feel that we had a home field advantage. Our fans sat on their hands expecting to win even though the coaching or the talent was so sub-standard. It was tough to watch
But now, It's has been a great run, I've enjoyed it thoroughly. Bama has not lost very many games in the past 10 years & we have won a number of Championship & broke some records.. I think the fan base is much younger now & maybe some fans feel the way Saban expressed. But every fan base has its idiots. I like it when Saban tells the truth, I think he was on the money in that video. I don't feel that way about our team. I can understand that Bama is who everyone wants to beat. Bama is not going to dominate every year, it's almost impossible to think that this thing last forever. But, I will say Bama has not played it's best football game yet, this year. To think that Saban is satisfied with their play would no
t be correct. I know the kids are doing their best & I'm sure they hate to lose, but the are not executing the plays nor do I feel this is our best coaching staff. God knows the talent is there but I'm not so sure the coaching is. I'm happy to make the SEC Championship Game, we'll see where we go from there.
That's pretty funny about Florida fans becoming Alabama fans, when I thought it was all the Georgia fans jumping ship after the Black Out of 2008
