Lincoln Riley to USC

The meltdown on twitter is fantastic. One minute it's like cool, whatever.. then the next is DIE LINCOLN DIE, lol... so bad they don't even want to play a bowl game now
What's weird is that I got the sense that they wanted him gone anyway because he was always losing 1-2 big games every year.

USC is loaded with talent without even trying.
Lincoln is going to be fine, in fact thrive.

As long as those guys drop in his lap he's fine.
Can anyone think of the last time Lincoln beat a team that had equal talent or equal coaching???

2017 vs Ohio State, and that’s debatable

OU fans were rightfully excited about Lincoln his first couple of seasons. Their offense was already good, but got even better the first couple seasons, but the defense never got good enough and they started to regress. Oklahoma will be fine. Riley should be good for competing for PAC titles every year, but I doubt he gets USC to a level where they can compete with Bama

think this was the big reason why he left.. he was having a hard time recruiting players to come there on the defensive side. He now gets to pick and choose bluechip DL. I know Bedenbaugh is going to be happy knowing he has the pick of the litter in CA. State of TX has soo many hands inside the jar, that despite the on field success they still couldn't put together a top 3 class.

His teams at SC will be more talented than the teams he had at ou ... bold take?

Don’t see this happening, I can’t see them paying enough to get Riley
If money is the only issue, Riley would be gone. USC has LOADS of money to spend. But that is not the issue

I love all these takes on go to the pac because its easier to win.
then how come USC is still struggling?
how come other coaches dont just walk in and win?
he is going to do the same as Chip Kelly
he has to rebuild. he isnt being handed the keys to a good team like at Oklahoma from daddy stoops.

how about we wait and see how he does year 1?

besides could say the same to everyone who is already basically calling USC to the playoffs and dominating the PAC

The argument against them leaving for the SEC was that they were all but guaranteed annual playoff consideration because of their ability to dominate the conference. The argument for Riley to LSU was that its easier to recruit elite talent there because they are a blue blood that completely locks down a talent rich state. This is kinda the best of both worlds. Caleb and Spencer didn't go to OU because of the school. They went there because Riley gets quarterbacks drafted on day 1. His reputation will travel.

i mean the guy has skins on the wall.. and he's at SC not UCLA or Cal
