Just heard that Nik Bonitto called Lincoln Riley out in that 2 minute see you later meeting the team had.

I don't blame players for being pissed. That whole "I will not be the next coach at LSU" just to be announced as the next coach at USC the next day is pretty chickenshit if you ask me. I don't mind coaches doing what they think is best for them, but they owe it to their players to at least be up front.

That wasn't much better than Bobby Petrino just up and leaving the Falcons mid season during his first year and letting the players know via notes taped to their lockers.

It's not hard to figure out. First of all, Tom didn't have shit going for him when he left Texas. Riley at least had a string of conference championships on his resume and a couple of great recruiting classes in front of him. There's your biggest differences between Riley and Herman. Now as to his "scorched earth" behavior, the guy obviously has a character flaw. He mislead his Administration and he flat lied to his players. The details aren't even worth getting into at this point. Some coaches prove to be drunks or druggies. Some are exposed as horn dogs. Riley's just your run of the mill liar.

i agree with this. Riley looks like a bitch.

but the biggest losers in this are the OU beat writers. Everyone knows they're retarded now for not asking Riley if he was going to remain loyal to the program. They just specifically asked him about LSU. I know people with journalism degrees aren't smart humans, but they should have done a little bit more critical thinking here.

Eh, if you watch the press conference, Lincoln was pretty crafty with how he shut it down.

Beat writers needed to be more direct when asking the question, instead they gave him an opening to steer the convo away.
