Just heard that Nik Bonitto called Lincoln Riley out in that 2 minute see you later meeting the team had.

lol @the ''outrage''.

If you're working for a company and another company contacts you with an offer that interests you, you start negotiating with them and tell your current company about it before anything is set...you are a dumbass.

This is how shit is done. It would have been stupid to tell OU and his players that he was looking at leaving. What if OU says ''GTFO'' and things don't work out with USC? What if he tells OU and his players and guys start leaving through the transfer portal, his recruiting class falls apart...and things don't work out at USC?

And if he stays and OU after negotiating with USC...OU, his players and any recruits know he already tried to leave once...why wouldn't he try to leave again and maybe actually leave.

And if anyone says they wouldn't leave their current employer to go work in a better location for twice as much money...they're either a liar or a dumbass.
Lol the "better location" is very debatable. Depends if you're a liberal pansy or a salt of the earth person I suppose.

Yes. I'm sure that's what it is.

No way that better weather, no tornadoes, beaches, mountains and the ability to put together an NC contending roster without setting foot in an airport had anything to do with his decision.

What are Oklahoma fans all upset about? Ya'll have been clamoring for him to leave for a while now.

I'm not upset.
There are lots of Coaches who can lose to Iowa State, Kansas State, Baylor, Oklahoma State, and any good team we get in a Bowl Game, over and over and over.

OK, I'll bite. I've got a LOT of employees spread over several companies and here's the way it should work. Someone is contacted about a job and after some tentative discussions it looks like it's really interesting. No problem with that. And maybe the discussions develop into a tentative offer. No problem with that either. BUT here is where integrity comes into play: the worker should then sit down and talk to the employer in confidence and explain why they are considering another offer. The employer is now informed and can address any issues that he/she may not have been aware of that contributed to the worker considering other employment. If both parties keep it classy, one of two things will happen: either the employer will make a counter offer than can involve money, advancement, different working conditions, whatever and the worker can now make a decision.......leave or stay. If they stay, everything's fine. (Bob Stoops did that TWICE at OU and stayed both times because they worked it out.) Or the worker politely declines the counter offer and they work out the best way for the separation to be handled. Riley did none of that and I know it for a fact. He mislead Castligione with a sin of omission. Joe's not stupid so he could feel something was wrong. Hell, I told people a month ago something was up and I even harped on this message board how I wasn't comfortable with Riley. I had zero inside information Riley was going to bail out and go to USC but I am a helluva judge of employees. There is a right way and a wrong way to leave a job. Riley did everything wrong because he's a classless dude with a talent for coaching offense. We will be fine. He won't be long term. That's a character flaw that will eventually bite him and he'll pay the price. When he gets suddenly canned someday it will be because his boss knows Riley isn't the kind of guy you can trust to be fair and square when it gets right down to the nut cutting. Good luck with him. You'll win a lot of games with him.

Tell me about it lol

Still think that guy is a good coach. UT is a shithole of a program and he still managed winning seasons every year including a 10-win 2018 that was capped off with a Sugar Bowl win vs UGA (and the hilarious "Texas is Back" mission accomplished statement).

Guy needs to get another chance at a school that isn't a dumpster fire.
LOL.. yeah UT was the one that told him to do his runny eggs and burnt toast during fall camp. They also told him flick off the cameras on signing day, they also told him to keep his staff from Houston in tact despite them being over their heads.

They also told him hey, just recruit DBs and WRs everything else will fall into place. You think he was good because he won a title there as an OC. What makes you think he would have sustained UH had he stayed for year 3.

But fuck it, I'm sure he was so highly thought of, he'll be back in no time coaching a P5 school.. or... maybe not.

When is BV coming in? Also.. is Bendebaugh staying or going?
