Giving Tuesday

I don't see Avila spending that much for Correa. He wants a deal like Saeger got. 10 years 300 million. That shit is so dumb. 10 years for a pro athlete.

Ya, a player seeking a 10 year deal can’t possibly be thinking in the best interest of the team.

yes, not sure how long I've had this current bottle. We don't use much syrup.
I don't need bulk syrup though...the TJs bottle is the right size for me

No.

I think it says refrigerate after opening, but we do not.

Then again, I would guess/hope that my three kids use maple syrup at a significantly faster rate than you do.
I just heat up what's needed for any breakfast that would require it... usually throwing away half of what I heat up.

yore part of the problem as to why there is a shortage

get your christmas gifts NOW

Shopping for my kids was so much easier when it was just toys. Now i gotta have Miss Dig come out so I can have a bball hoop installed. Going shopping for a new bike for my daughter too. The wife got her a shit one from Target last year and I’ve felt bad about it since. Going to spoil her this year.

next time I'll drink the unused syrup

so we want to get a ring doorbell, fine, but I can't find my doorbell transformer, it's not behind my existing chime and can't see where wires go. I'll need to get up in the attic I guess
fuck it, I'll just put battery powered ring in there

if you can find the way to wire it, it's worth it.

I'd like to POE the thing and take wifi out of the mix completely.

Bear in mind Detroit had by far the worst middle infield defense in baseball. That is every bit the draw as his bat. The fact he was willing to take less years (lining up with when they have to sign all their young talent to long term deals) was also a big selling point.

He's definitely not Saeger or Correa but I'm just as comfortable with him as Semien and Story.
Six years (or two if he does well and opts out) for a shortstop who seems to make some crazy difficult plays and also boots too many routine ones seems like a lot to me.

bought a fake tree years ago. Fuck getting a real tree ever again.
I always did fake until my first kid was about 4yo. Since then we've done real and make a day of getting it at a local tree farm and decoration the house, watching xmas movies/specials and drinking christmas ales.

We'll likely go back to fake at some point, but for the time being, I'm loving this tradition.

The fact that 300 mil contracts are now common just floors me. I get that the economies of scale have changed but I still remember how earth shattering it was when Arod got that 250 mil deal with the Rangers in 2000

I love taking a piss on your real tree because it absorbs much better than that fake one. It's the gift that keeps on giving

*Anyone else concerned that Redfoot makes his kids drink Christmas Ale?

My 12 year old gave us her Christmas “Suggestion List” last night. 3 pages, bullet pointed. Broken out into seven subcategories with links to where said items can be purchased. I was simultaneously appalled by the sheer number of items on the list and impressed by her organizational skills.

My daughter does that too. Links, pictures, sizes when applicable. My son just asks for cash for gift cards

I miss the days when I just went through the Sears catalog and circled what I wanted

I think it's a ridiculous expectation that a player should be thinking in the best interests of the team. The teams sure as shit aren't thinking in the best interests of the players during negotiation.

Loyalty is a two way street and it's extremely rare that a player has a team's loyalty.

This is also why you should never buy team merch with player information on it unless said player is retired. Think about all of the Dodger fans who risked another felony strike stealing Seager jerseys and now he’s a Ranger.

I'm going to search the attic, but after that I am out of ideas. House was built in 1948, few remodels, who knows where the damn thing is
