Discuss: BIG 10 CCG

Michigan is second fave team here. However, I hope the win over Buckeyes doesn't have them all high and mighty. Iowa will be ready to play. Michigan by 10-13 maybe.

A really intriguing part if this game will be special teams.

Iowa ranks #1 in college football ST rankings

Michigan ranks #2

If either of these teams can make a big play in that area it will likely greatly impact the game

Both teams also rank top 5 in defense on S&P+

Major difference as youd guess is the offenses

That said Iowa also leads the nation in turnovers forced while Michigan pritects it well

Definitely a lot of areas these 2 mirror each other

Iowas lack offensive firepower has been largely negated by their excellence in special teams and forcing turnovers so if UM can pritect the ball and not let Iowa make a big ST play or 2 they should win confortably but if they dont itll be close

In my experience, Michigan fans are significantly worse than Iowa fans.

To be honest, as far as B1G teams go, Iowa fans are probably like 4th worst or so.
Buts let’s all agree. Penn State fans are the worst.

nah.

Colorado, Texas, and Michigan are like a top 3 for me.

Don't get me wrong, I have met good fans from all three, but it is rather rare.

I don't see Michigan putting up 35. Winning by 14 wouldn't be a shock though.
Michigan averages 38 or 39 on the year. I'm not saying UM will -- but it wouldn't surprise me in the least. The offense has been getting progressively better every week. If Wisconsin can put up 27 -- I am fairly confident UM has a much better and well balanced offense than Wisconsin.

All this says to me is that you haven’t been around Penn state fans.

Vegas line is currently 11... I believe Michigan covers the spread.

Michigan 30
Iowa 13

Yeah -- that's why i think UM is a bad match up for Iowa this year. Michigan would lead the nation for fewest turnovers lost if it weren't the games when we put the backups in. I think our starters have 4 turnovers all year, while the backups have 5. They don't give up sacks either, only Georgia has given up fewer.

The two kickers in this game are two of the top kickers in college -- Iowa's kicker hit a 51 yard FG against Nebraska that would have been good from 61. Very impressed with him

Game will come down to if Iowa can limit UM running the ball. If they can, it will be a good game. If they can't, it will be a long day for Iowa.

This is one of those games where I think whoever gets to 20 points first wins the game.

Years of the team being shitty and getting bludgeoned by their rivals has let the nation forget what scum their fans are.

Iowa starting Petras at QB over Padilla

Right choice imo

They both suck but at least Petras has experience and can complete 50% of his passes

We REALLY need a new QB

All those Iowa fans whp spent 3 years bitching about Stanley provably feel pretty dumb now though lol

You are talking about the only time Iowa gave up more than 24 in a few years. If Michigan were to win by 14, it would be something like 24-10 or 21-7.

Iowa also had the star DB out and his backup got injured vs Purdue.

Are you from New Zealand? You say "protect" funny. Say "deck".

Michigan averages, i believe 38 ppg. Props to Iowa for holding the offenses they played to 24 or less, but Iowa didn't play OSU, Michigan or Michigan State -- the #1, #2 and #3 offenses in the B1G.

It is possible that Iowa holds UM to 24 or less, but if I were a betting man, I'd take the over on UM's point total. Wisconsin got to play the B1G West schedule and they led the B1G in PPG allowed. Michigan scored 38 on them.

It will be a very interesting game to watch, as they are similar teams in their style of play, but UM has more playmakers on both sides of the ball than Iowa. If UM plays mistake free -- I think they win comfortably. If Iowa is able to muck it up and force some turnovers -- this could be a hell of a game for fans who like low scoring defensive battles.
