It's was just wishful thinking. Giving the OSU fan the bidness. LSU needs a DC since Aranda left. I never thought he would follow Kelly here. He has a great shot at ND. Hope this shitshow works out for both teams.
Only thing that gives me pause is (a) we were competing with LSU for his services last year (b) with Kelly going and opening up the vault for him it gives him what he needs to make a HC leap I. The next year or 2 (something we all expected at ND) and the security to do it.
Yeah -- Kelly screwed ND. With signing day so close and no head coach -- ND could see the same thing that OU has seen happen, with commits de-committing in droves and ND has a top 5 recruiting class, so that could be many high quality recruits looking for new homes.
I don’t think Kelly was as beloved as your bro claims. But everything seemed poised for a big jump next year and it seemed like maybe he was finally coming around to his gig plus being the “winningest coach in ND history” doesn’t mean shit without a title. But the only difference between us and OU right now is Freeman. The recruits (save one who has already decommitted) are waiting to see if he stays or goes. If he goes so does a majority of the 2022 class and most of the 2023 class.
He usually knows everything about ND football. He has been a season ticket holder for as long as i can remember. He is a member of some group who gets to VIP pre game at the Victory Club or something along those lines. Personally, I despise ND, so I try not to listen to him all too much. No offense.
"Fickell" I get it when other fans don't get it right, but the guy started for 4 years at Ohio State and coached there for 15 years.
I don't think that was on him. He wasn't given control. The OC ran the offense, he ran the defense, half the offensive starters were suspended for multiple games, it was a mess.
