And I am a Madison Central dad.
Finals? We're just in the quarterfinals here. Three more weeks to go. They'll gather for 12 games in 3 days at Jerry's World for the finals Dec 15-18. AND, the two teams from each bracket that make it to Arlington will play their 16th game there. Yes, that is their SIXTEENTH. But it is too much to ask of two teams with very finely conditioned college players to play that many.
And we have an "outlier" this year in 4A Division II. Texarkana - Pleasant Grove is 8-5 on the year..which means they were 5-5 in the regular season. "Usually" after three playoff rounds the teams have 0-2 losses...3 at the most. I'm guessing they played "up in classification" in their non district schedule against some 5A, 6A teams.
