Will Anderson is not only the best defensive player in the country but he is the best player in the country. The fact he isn’t a finalist is BULLSHIT. His numbers dwarf both Jordan Davis and Aiden Hutchinson. He wrecks other teams game plans.
 
The amazing thing is Alabama’s top 2 DE on the other side got hurt so all focus has been on Will and they still can’t block him
 
Jordan Davis is the better player.

First, I agree that Anderson is one of the best D players in the country, and you certainly have a gripe he didn't make the list. I know how you feel in that Brock Bowers is the best TE in the country and he wasn't a finalist for the Mackey Award. Just doesn't make sense.

But, if you have a gripe, it's not with Davis and "numbers." Everything isn't about total numbers. Davis is the point man on what is likely one of the best D's in CFB in a long time, if not ever. He is double and triple teamed on every play. That doesn't show up in numbers. Also, UGA rotates 22-27 players on D, every game. And, Davis rarely if ever played in the 4th quarter of a game. In fact, in at least 4 games (1/3 of the schedule) he was out of the game by the end of the first half. At Vandy, I think he was out of the game at the end of the first quarter when we were up 35-0. I am sure that it you want to compare numbers on a per snap played basis, Davis' numbers for his position would be really, really good.

I don't really get worked up about these awards, or the Heisman. Nor should you ... you are in the hunt for a NC, you've won 5 of the last 10 ... you good.
