Bowl Game opt outs.........

What the hell does getting paid have to do with anything?

Not all bowl games are exhibitions. The CFP games actually mean something. The normal bowl games don't.
Still a nice memory for many players and fans. Bowl games do have meaning.

Well except ours. No one cares except maybe first year starters.

I typically despise the whole not paying in the bowl thing. But I don’t know why any of the players would want to play in that one.
I used to. Now I think "who cares"? Except for the CFP games, the rest of 'em are exhibition games anyway. Use the bowl game as the first game of the 2022 season. Play the guys that want to and the ones you want to get a look at.

Everything not a Playoff game will become senior opt outs and freshman new guys.
A premier of whats going to come next year.

Not sure I like it, but................

A year like this really puts it in perspective. Coaches don’t care, you have coaches who still had playoff hopes being bought away from their job. Can blame kids for doing whatever has the most potential to work best for them.

If they are meaningless exhibitions, the records shouldn't count for players, coaches and teams.

Sounds about right. So many red flags around that kid. Lots of talent, little drive to play. God I hope the Cowboys stay the hell away from him or someone picks him before we have the chance.
The cowboys? Itll be literally impossible for the cowboys to draft him unless they give up a ton to move up. The dudes going top 3 at minimum even with all his flaws.

For sure he will opt out. The only bowl games that mean anything right now are the Orange and Cotton. The rest are simply exhibition games to line the pocket of the school and sponsors.

It will become the norm for guaranteed 1st round picks to drop out of bowl games instead of risk injury before signing a multimillion dollar contract. Can't same I blame them though.
Do you think the NIL contracts might start requiring bowl play if eligible? If I'm paying for someone to be seen in college then I want them in the bowl games.

And I'm glad that someone else will take him before we have the chance to get that flop. Pass rushers are what we will be after and he has JFF style star power and what appears to be the same level of motivation to try.

red flags? He's done enough to show that he's an elite DL.. Goal for him is to play in the NFL and actually get PAID. No need to chance getting hurt for a bowl game.

that would be illegal and the school wouldn't sign off. You can't have these performance clauses

Yes, red flags. Every time I have watched Oregon to see him play I have seen him do exactly zip. And that's multiple games against in and out of conference players. I don't care for excuses like "they are double teaming him because he's that good". Lots of kids are double teamed and still beat it or hustle to make plays even if they can't get to the QB. In Kayvon I see a kid that wants the spotlight of the sack and doesn't care about anything else if he can't get there.

So yeah, red flags. As soon as he has his millions in his pocket he is done.

Maybe you can't today, but we will get there.

Weed killed Randy’s career
Absolutely, but that begins with the mindset of "eh, who cares, I do what I want". How stupid and lazy do you have to be to lose millions of dollars because you can't follow a smoking schedule? The NFL testing program is one of the easiest to beat, but he kept failing it somehow. It's a mindset and a lack of maturity, not treating football like a job. And I see the same in Kayvon.
