Last two jury summons I got (which was quite awhile ago), I got out of since I was a prosecution witness in two other trials during those particular times.
Funny how that works out sometimes... :martini:
 
Dang Boss asked me to come into the office today to help him with some charity/benefits crap that he waited until the last minute to complete so now it’s MY emergency :rolleyes2:

All I wanted to do today was take half an adderall and power clean the kitchen & bathroom but now I just want to make a chile verde burrito.

First trial was for two young thugs beating up and trying to rob an elderly couple just walking down the street. I've got a REALLY GOOD memory for details. The two thugs only got 7 years, tho. :tsk:

That second trial was for some useless asswipe beating his dog bloody in public when me and my friend intervened. That asswipe got only 5 years. But it was some justice.

Good news, tho, was that the dog survived and is doing well and is with a really nice family now. That made it all worth it, being a witness.. :nod:

He could have gotten up to 10 years under the law. Animal abuse and cruelty laws have been becoming a lot more stronger in many places around the country. Especially for pets like cats and dogs (and others that are considered pets).

To me, my pets are just as much family as the human kids. To beat them bloody for no good reason is and should be just as criminal as beating your child bloody. So... I tend to like animals much better than a BIG chunk of humanity these days anyway. It has quickly become the only "liberal" part of me left. :beer2:
