The difference between winning the trivia part was me recognizing the beginning of the snow monster cave from Empire Strikes Back, and I got the most points of all players in the music quiz.

The lampshade was bonus points to put it out of reach.

I do agree, I think the theme is one gift each day, not all the gifts every day.

The last couple of years we've been given an advent calendar of German beers from my brother in law. They apparently are something you can find in Costco for a short time. Pretty cool. 24 pint cans.
