Texpectations: Longhorn Superthread

I only put this here because Gene Chzik must have dementia, or maybe he just blocked out his NC transfer QB, Cam Newton.

uh.....color me stupid but, if he was #1 rated QB shouldn't he have got some garbage time?

I can't see where he took a single snap this year? Did he redshirt?

Three other dudes seemed to have some statistics as QBs.

The 4th string QB at tOSU WHO COULDN'T EVEN SEE THE FIELD is gonna help yall better than the guise yall fucking recruited?

Yall best get your shit together real quick like. Big Boy Football is just around the corner. Find you some Jesus or something because its evident yall aren't living right.

Ok, you are right. I will color you stupid. The kid showed up late, well after everyone. A top 10 pick is starting at OSU. He wasn’t going to get a lot of time

I know he's now a longhorn, but this is the image of an Ohio person for life

This guy looks as clueless as Ehlinger

He did get to hand the ball off once or twice at the end of the MSU game because Miller was suspended due to OVI.

However, I already said my piece on this guy. He got terrible advice. He had a terrible attitude. He had sub-standard effort. His best shot would have been to try to overtake McCord for #2 this spring which would have caused McCord to transfer. Then, he would have been one play away from starting. He wasn't patient enough to do that, apparently because he has big NIL deals waiting, but only if he gets on the field.

He's a good QB. I wish him nothing but the best as long as he isn't playing Ohio State.

if he was all that bad.. what was that fluff piece about him already passing everyone up a month ago? It was from one of the bucknuts $9.95ers

they too were covering for Quinn, carrying his water?

There were a couple of "insiders" who I follow who I suspect were actually advising the kid. One of them worked for the car dealership that gave QE a $90,000 truck to drive. They **claim** that Ryan Day begged Ewers to reclassify because OSU wasn't sure any of the qb's were any good, which I find laughable. These same "insiders" had been telling us all summer that there wasn't a real competition and that CJ Stroud was the clear starter even though Day had not announced it.

These guys actually got the OSU press credentials pulled from their entire site for every staff member because of something they did.
There is a guy at another site who actually falsely announced that a bball player was SHOT DEAD by a teammate once and they didn't pull his credentials, so whatever these guys did was pretty bad.

We can debate the advise, because the reports are he got 2-3 million in NIL money. My point was he showed up in the middle of fall camp, so he came in way behind the other QBs. OSU had one of the top 3-5 QBs at starter this season. Odds of Quinn logging much snaps was always low. OSU staff didn’t even want him to come this year, but you can’t tell the #1 kid no in that circumstance.

Stan drayton looks to be the new Temple coach

He only has an issue with it being advertised. #taxfree

It wasn't close to 2 million.
It could have been that much if he actually became the starter. He had deals in the wings just waiting for him to take over, which wasn't going to happen any time soon.

NFL money >>>> NIL money. If he is as good as advertised, he would have been best to finish high school, come to Ohio State with his class, sit for a year and learn from the best QB coach (Ryan Day) in the NCAA and be the #1 pick after his third year.

I put this in another thread.

This was a reply to a retweet of Chizik's comment:

His heart was always at Texas, he didn't want to be perceived as being shaky had he flipped back to UT during the spring after Sark arrived. The rumors were that his family and the staff were in talks throughout the spring and summer.

I honestly think he enrolled early, not just for the deals his family had on the table but to get away from all the pressure of not coming back to UT. When the stuff about him taking a mental day off during a gameday weekend started to leak out... I knew it from there he would comeback, not necessarily to UT but somewhere in TX.

The rumored memorabilia deal was around 3 mil. Not sure how much that drink deal was from the company out of DFW was.. or the dealership deal from Columbus. Texas sites are saying all together it is close to 4 mil.

If he gets UT to 9 wins next season.. that memorabilia deal is going to be happy.. Him being successful at UT makes him worth more than if he were at tosu imo.

Maybe, but if he wanted to be developed to be ready for the NFL, he should have stayed with Day. JMHO.

well let's not act like he wound up with some hobo in Sark either.. he has a long track record with QBs as well

He has coached guys into the NFL, but I can't think of who has had success there. Tua and Mac are probably too early to tell. but has he put anyone in the NFL that won any awards? Was Carson Palmer one of his? Leinart was. Locker maybe?

Palmer was Norm Chow. Sanchez had a couple of good years but pretty much everyone else busted.

but isn't the point that they get drafted in the first rd? His best work was Jake Locker, he made him look like a 1st rd QB pick. Mistake was Jake deciding to comeback for his Sr Season..

I'm not sure how Day is better than Sark at this point.. unless you think Haskins and Fields will be better?

I'm not sure Day is better from any standpoint other than there is a better shot at being a featured QB in the playoffs under Day than Sark right now.
