Restaurant Chains Possibly Closing

Pizza Hut seemed surprising

They've been making a move to pick up & delivery for a while now. The Papa John's & Dominoes model are money makers while a sit down pizza joint has much more overhead.

The only real good pizza around here is a $25 pizza. Once they go franchise they start using cheap ingredients.

My brother and a few of my high school buddies worked at the first Godfathers Pizza ever to open. It was on 99th and Q in Omaha. Willie Thiessen owned a bar called Wild Willy's next to it in a strip mall, bought it out, knocked out the wall, and it became Godfather's Pizza. They expanded to a couple other places in Omaha before going national and international. They originally used only the finest ingredients. When they went franchise they cheapened the ingredients. A Godfather's pizza today in no way resembles a Godfathers pizza of the 70's. Look, taste, nothing.
Thiessen eventually sold it and tried a few other franchise food joints "Famous Dave's" BBQ being one of them.

John Schnatter is a complete douchemonkey. No one is changing their eating habits because of him. They should avoid Papa John’s because the pizza sucks.
Who cares if the former owner is a douchemonkey? But I do agree their pizza sucks.

I couldn’t tell you the last time I ate Papa John’s because their pizza is garbage. I sure as fuck aren’t going to boycott them out of some weird sense of fealty to Papa John himself.

I mean, if you're all for the company Smolletting him, that's cool for you I guess. All 3 are pure trash, but only one faked a race card incident for no fucking reason.
I love how you still think a sizable enough chunk of the this country’s purchasing power is predicated on such principles, at least enough to drive a national company out of business.

That’s not a read on you purchasing based on such principles, I respect it. It’s a read on believing enough other people do the same.

As for Papa Johns….I’m amazed enough people still want to have that “just ate literal concrete” feeling their product always leaves behind.

I would miss The Lost Cajun. Their gumbo is the real deal.

Applebee's might survive if you could get a Coke, but they only serve Pepsi, so fuck them.

What's funny is Warren Buffet and Birkshire Hathaway own Dairy Queen. They are also the largest investor in Coca Cola. But DQ serves Pepsi products.

When Berkshire has it's shareholder meetings in Omaha people always ask why they can't get a coke at DQ.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a sit down Pizza Hut around here. Maybe 15-20 years ago at least.

We have them in Super Target's here as you're walking out the door. There are a few operating as a dual outlet with Taco Bell as well.

I don't know of any stand alone dine-in's other than in real small towns.

Our last sitdown Pizza Hut closed "due to covid" last year.

They were still offering a $5.99 buffet with ice cold marinara sauce until that day.

Pizza Hut is a fucking dinosaur.

They are all gone from target here….I think. I rarely go in Target anymore. But you’re right on the Yum Brands places (taco bell/KFC/Pizza Hut) stores. We still have those here.

Such garbage brands.

Ha. I remember the lunch buffets. Used to go to one down the street in the day for lunch break.

Coldest marinara on the market…..

Two of the wokest states, Oregon and MN like the most culturally appropriated food on the list.

Checks Out Season 2 GIF by The Office

Years ago when my daughter was about 8 we were at a mall food court. My son and I ordered Charley's cheesesteaks and my daughter got Panda Express. She threw up all over the floor next to our table. LOL

Every time I see or hear about Panda Express I think of that. I've never tried them and won't. She won't eat there either.
