On August 27, 2022 Nebraska will be playing Northwestern. I would advise the Cornhuskers to forget about 1997 and focus on that.

Michigan usually schedules one good out-of-conference team for the season ... not this year. @Red_Alert please feel free to bitch about this.

Sept. 3 -- Colorado State
Sept. 10 -- Hawaii
Sept. 17 -- Connecticut
Sept. 24 -- Maryland*
Oct. 1 -- at Iowa*
Oct. 8 -- Penn State*
Oct. 15 -- Nebraska*
Oct. 22 -- at Michigan State*
Oct. 29 -- Illinois*
Nov. 5 -- Bye Week
Nov. 12 -- Indiana*
Nov. 19 -- at Rutgers*
Nov. 26 -- at Ohio State*
Dec. 3 -- Big Ten Championship Game

LMAO!!! That's the kind of childish shit we get when they have no answer.

Seems you michigan fans should "focus" on your next game against Georgia TOMORROW FUCKING NIGHT!!!

Yes -- I'm sure Nebraska just let up on the two teams UM beat the shit out of, while Nebraska almost lost Colorado. I'm sure Nebraska let those teams score 45 points on them, while they score 6 on UM.

But tell us more about the teams Michigan didn't face -- it is priceless listening to the argument. Disregard that UM gave up 6 to Baylor and Colorado, while Nebraska gave up 45. Disregard that UM outscored those teams by 59, while Nebraska only beat them by 27. Those games don't matter. It is the games against teams UM didn't face that truly matter. :pound:
Nebraska was up on Baylor 42-7 at half. 49-7 in the middle of the 3rd. I guarantee you that Nebraska had backups in after that and especially in 4th quarter for a couple garbage TD’s. That’s how Osborne always built depth by playing backups in blowouts. Baylor’s last score was last play of game so spread of games was identical Before that play.

Colorado is a RIVALRY game especially for Colorado. I know you can’t understand that simple point that you can throw out everything in those types of games because usually closer than should be.

Big 10 was overrated that season and got shit kicked in by the SEC in the bowl games. Nebraska shit stomped the SEC Champion.

Can some one explain to me what Michigan did?

Why are you trying to simplify this for Nebraska fans ... they are dealing with their Michigan envy that has been present for 25 years. Yes, they were undefeated and there should have been a playoff ... but damn to hold on to something for a quarter of a century. Be a goldfish Nebraska fans, forget 1997 and think about your next game.
They are never letting go of 1997, because it is most likely the last time they will come close to a national title. College football is completely different now. Recruiting is big business. Recruits don't fall thru the cracks. Advanced coaching at the HS level makes finding unpolished prospects that turn into stars even tougher to find. Nebraska isn't pulling 5 star recruits to come to the middle of nowhere to play games in the Midwest, when they have no national rivalries anymore and they playing the B1G West.

Nebraska sold out their football program for television revenue in the B1G. Their fans can keep blaming Pelini, blaming Riley, blaming Frost, blaming "fill in the blank" after Frost is fired. But the reality is -- Nebraska will be a low 2nd tier program. They will compete for the occasional B1G West title and the chance to get smacked in the CCG, but being a national program again is never happening.

I am not worried about 1997 … I wish we were playing any other team but Georgia, but you have to deal with the hand you have. I am focused, I am praying and I might sacrifice a chicken. Nothing else is my old ass going to do to help the Wolverines.

But here you are....

Take your own advice.

Ahhhh -- So what you are saying is -- you have an excuse for everything. Got it. Those teams tried against Nebraska, but not against Michigan. That's why UM dominated both and Nebraska only dominated Baylor and almost lost to Colorado.

Enjoy your rivals now -- All kinds of big time recruits cannot wait to play in the big game against Iowa or Wisconsin.

That didn't help at all
That was my point … last century whining or bragging is worthless. Truth; ohio state was a better team than Michigan. We caught them on an off day while we were having a good day. Georgia is the best team in the NCAA this year, and I am not going to belittle them.

The ONLY argument Michigan fans have regarding 1997 is two common opponents using the transitive property.

What they remove from every post they reply to that addresses the common opponent issue is that they were both Out Of Conference games played in Ann Arbor and the first two games of their season.

They were both In Conference ROAD games for Nebraska. One being a rival where Colorado would sell their souls (a la Michigan vs tOSU) to beat Nebraska.

Again.... That transitive property is the ONLY argument they have regarding 1997. That's it.
The vast majority of AP voters admit they turned in their votes after the Rose Bowl instead of waiting one more night for Nebraska to destroy Tennessee in the Orange Bowl and then evaluating what they saw.

Anything else regarding the current state of Nebraska football is pure distraction.

I only reply to your 1997 panic … it’s kinda funny.
It could be 2097 before they have another shot at a national title, so just let them continue to grasp at their last sliver of relevance. But hey -- the school is making more money than ever. They just sold out the football program to do it.

Does that make you feel better? Are you feeling good enough to leave 1997 alone?

Even more excuses. Tell us more about the teams you beat that Michigan didn't play. That will definitely prove your point. :pound:

Nebraska fans -- AP voters turned their vote in after the Rose Bowl or they would have voted for Nebraska -- post that for all to see, i'm sure there are articles everywhere of the AP writers saying this:rofl:

Reality -- Tom Osborne announced his retirement right before his bowl game and coaches gave him votes as a retirement gift, as everyone knew the AP was going to the #1 team in the country.
