GAME Texas Bowl.. Kansas St vs LSU 9:00pm (ET) ESPN

Best example of how broken the non playoff bowl games are anymore.
I’m going to disagree with this a wee bit.

if anything, I think that these games where it is next man up are actually closer to the old college football all of us geezers grew up watching. Playing for your school pride instead of a NFL contract. Next man up.

We can asterisk the results all we want to feel less discomfort, but a game WAS played and there was a winner and a loser.

I have no problem with next man up, when that next man actually plays the position.

The reason it sucked had nothing to do with who won or an asterisk, but watching non QB's trying to run an offense was just not entertaining for me. If it worked for you then awesome. I turned it off at half time. It was just bad football.

It was hard to watch.

Remember a couple years ago when Kentucky was forced to use its top WR as a QB for nearly the entire season?

They made and won a bowl game that year. One of the better coaching jobs I’ve ever seen really

I didn't watch a minute.

The concept intrigued me.

K. To me that's different than a guy doing it just for the bowl game.

Doubt I would watch it in regular season either, but that's me.

2015 Baylor lost all their QBs during the season and in Russell Athletic Bowl they had to play a running back at QB against North Carolina. They ran what looked like the old single wing and had 645 yards rushing on 84 rushing attempts. And Artie boy Briles was supposed to be a passing guru!
