Jim Harbaugh gone to NFL

I agree with everything you say other than the part about living in Georgia. Trust me, living in Athens, Georgia is a plus, not a minus. Especially for the coaches family. Right now, there are six D1 coaches/ex-coaches living in Athens - Smart, Richt, Dooley, Muschamp, Goff and Donnan. Don't be surprised to see the seventh, Bobo, there in a few months. Was there 3 years in law school, lived in the Atlanta area for another 15. It's a great place to live. Good chance in retirement that I will live at least part time in Athens.

I especially agree with you about Nebraska. It rankles them when you say it, but it is true.

Finally, that's why the 12 team CFP is important ... you may not be able to win the natty, but getting into the playoff and hosting a game or two or three every 5 years will go a long way to making CFB football fun for a lot of teams who really don't have a chance to make it to the top. I live in Raleigh, so I think of the reaction that NCSU and UNC fans (not Duke, they are hopeless) would have just to get into the CFP. The place would be nuts.
You forgot Matt Luke

Michigan had a brand new defensive coordinator, running a completely new defense. What you are doing is trying to find excuses for OSU's play on defense. Simply put -- they were pushed around by any team who could play physical. That has nothing to do with scheme or coaching.

It'd be like UM fans saying -- Georgia didn't push us around, it was the schemes fault or the coaches fault. No -- Georgia was simply more physical than UM and won the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

But if it makes you feel better to blame coaching or scheme. Feel free.

Ohio State had no defensive coordinator basically lol. You trying to equate that to having a brand new guy is ridiculous.

Ive definitely given up on some guys (Zach Harrison especially) but i'll give some benefit of the doubt to the younger guys and see what they do with a real defensive coordinator running areal defense in 2022.

They might want to keep looking.

UoM's 2021 defense sucked just as badly as tOSU's, if not more.

Six common opponents, and they scored 42% more on UoM than they did on tOSU.

They ran for 230 yards. Oregon ran for 300. Michigan ran for 300. That is being pushed around. Hell -- Utah had almost 500 yards of offense. Oregon and Michigan had 500 yards of offense on OSU.

OSU had zero game changers on defense this past year. None. They had the one freshman DB that was solid, but nothing special, that was named 2nd team All-B1G. They had no game changers in their front 7. And they especially didn't have any game changers at DE.

They had defensive players for the past 10+ years that were dominate. Nick Bosa, Joey Bosa, Chase Young, Denzel Ward, Eli Apple, Marshawn Lattimore, Gareon Conley, Jeffrey Okudah, etc. etc. OSU's defense has nothing like those guys. The defense for OSU this year reminded me of UM's defenses of the past -- they'd dominate the bottom feeders and get run over by the few good teams they played.

And even the OLine for OSU -- you have one of the best RB's in the nation and teams were able to shut him down, but against the bottom feeders he looked like the best RB in CFB.

With the skill position talent that OSU had this past year -- they should have rolled every team sans, Georgia and Bama. The fact they didn't tells you the big issues they have to try and correct.
Geez, I don’t even remember some of those guys names. Your nightmares must be horrendous.
Charles Woodson is the only guy I can remember from a Michigan defense and that was 24 years ago

I'd think you remembered Aiden Hutchinson -- he did sack your QB 3 times?

Nah -- if UM only had one DB named to the 2nd team All-B1G out of their entire defense -- then I would agree. But the good thing is -- OSU has many of those soft players back next year, so UM can be less talented as a team and control both lines of scrimmage and still have a shot to win.

But i'm sure it will be "insert coaches names" fault next year too.

"UoM has a great defense. They just let those teams score all those points because they're nice guys."

Ask OSU. You scored either the fewest or 2nd fewest points all season against them. Or maybe OSU was just being nice and not scoring on them too much. That can't be it though, because Day said they were going to hang 100.

How does this work? Lolz. <-----Did i do that right?

"common opponent stats are something I love to use to compare two teams. Unless they indicate something I don't like, then I ignore them."

We faced each other -- how'd that go? Did OSU shut UM down? Or did UM line up and run it right down OSU's throat? I forgot

It's pointless to argue with him. He thinks 1 down year guarantees it being a trend going forward. Id bet money Ohio States defense is better next year while Michigan's has a good fall off without their 2 flash in the pan elite pass rushers.

Oh, I know it's pointless. He's constantly talking out of his ass. That's why I'm not putting any energy into it.

I love his thought that if true freshmen aren't immediately 1st team all Americans they are unimpressive failures.
Where did I say this? Or are you insinuating that OSU's defense was all true freshman? All I said is -- OSU didn't have any game changers on defense. The All-B1G defense teams seem to agree with me?

So every good team OSU faced didn't run the ball down their throat? Seeing as how UM, Utah and Oregon ran for almost 900 yards on them -- I'd say it is pretty accurate what i say?

You are missing the part where I said, when teams don't play each other. Last I checked -- OSU and UM played each other. Did you get to see the game? What's that? I think Haskins just ran another td in.
