Texas A&M boosters paid $30 million for the top-overall 2022 class

When Flurduh gets all those priests runnin around hunting for this type of crap we're talkin hurr .... git back to me.
not sure what you mean. I’m just saying ND had deep pockets. Maybe the Vatican can help out.

Saw that.

Still gotta coach 'em up.

As if the Pope doesn't have Brady Quinn's WELL-WORN JOCKSTRAP stuffed in that robe somewhere.

NIL has just legitimized the bagmen. They’re just buying players at this point.
They all are, now it’s just a matter of how bad ya want it and how deep ya pockets are

Alabama is still putting 5 stars in the league at twice the rate of the next best program. Only the dumbs ones are signing for the quick chump change.

JMO but I think Jimbo and A&M will be catching up to Alabama in that category very soon due to the willingness to embrace this era of bigger spending and having the deep pocket financial backing to spend on what and/or who is needed.

Key word is boosters. The school didn't do it.

So, if all of 'em stay and collect that annually, not counting inflation the boosters need $120 for four classes to keep that up. There are a lot of rich aggies so that's a drop in the bucket.

I can't wait to see the pissing contest this turns into.
Nope, it isn't 30M per year for this class. it's 30M if they all stay for all 4 years.

How do you keep a kid in school for 3 to 4 years when they can jump into a transfer portal and be at another school because they were the highest bidder.

Are schools gonna make kids sign binding contracts With a no compete clause
The deal is year to year. JUmp and you don't get the next year.

A&M has proven we can put OL and DE/LB in the NFL, WR not too shabby.

Texas A&M hasn't won a national championship in football in 82 years. They haven't won a conference championship in football in 23 years. Their last division title in football was 11 years ago. But now they're gonna buy their way to the top of the SEC and CFB by spending money like the U.S. Government? Go check professional sports and see if over the years their champions are even close to being consistent #1 spenders for player payrolls. Go ahead, I'll wait.

So $7.5 million/year then. That even less of a drop in the bucket for the aggie faithful. That's easy for them to cover.

Drafted is one thing...first-round money is a different story.

Since 2008:

Alabama 49% of signed 5-stars go in the first round. A&M 9%.

% of 5 stars to 1st round.

Certainly A&M is throwing money around like it's candy, we'll see what it leads to.

Cool story, bro.

We are going to go ahead and keep trying to get the best players we can...if that's ok with you. :rolleyes2:

So they are good coming in and going out. What about non-5 stars that A&M has put in the NFL via 1st round vs same stat for Bama?

A&M also groomed a WR so well he's done a pretty good job as an NFL QB. And a oil patch kid from Big Spring at that.
Jimbo has not fared well developing WRs. He hasn’t really used them. Offense has been more about hitting guys out of the backfield and TEs

I was referring to Tannehill. Not sure if that was under Sherman or Sumlin. Switched him to a WR and he's a playoff quality QB in the NFL. smh

Lol at you who missed the point of the whole conversation in your zeal to point out supposed hypocrisy. Quit acting the part of the typical dumb barner. Or maybe you aren't acting.
No one forced you to brag about how your team has cheated in the past so don’t get pissy when I highlight it.
