friend of mine texted me last night letting me know his 95 yr old grandfather got COVID and pneumonia and was on oxygen.

used to play street hockey with him and his family when I was in high school and his Pop Pop did not let up when he got stuck in the corner with you...he couldn't hear 20 yrs ago either...he'd just hit you

Ooof. sorry to hear about pop pop.

daytime co-worker of mine on SysOps team has been in hospital since 12-31-2021. Last Saturday he got married in his hospital room and the next day was put in an induced coma with a respirator. Good ole' boy and a real nice guy.

I got no head last night either.

I got a booster jab though. Not feeling 100%
The lymph node in my armpit swole up to golfball size after I got mine.

Had to go get it cut opened and drained and had like 5 feet of gauze packed into it for a few weeks.

That was fun.

Interesting day here yesterday. Wife headed to Clewiston to get her prescriptions cause it's the nearest cvs. Said she had just got up to 60 and was getting ready to put cruise on when an old guy on a harley blew by her. Half mile later on hwy 80 there's a sharp curve. Harley parts all over the road and guy and bike wadded up in guardrail. She stopped and walked over while calling 911. Went to check for pulse but guys hand was gone. Then she looked again and no head.
Holy shit

I once saw a biker crash. A couple guys, and I, used to car pool when we were broke as fuck. Driving to work one morning, sun wasn't up yet, and all half asleep. A biker went flying by us, and kind of startled everyone in the car. Look up, as he is entering an intersection ahead, and he runs the red light, gets clipped in the rear end of the bike, and parts and shit flew everywhere. We pull up and the biker dude is laying there, clearly hurt, but conscious. He starts muttering," Where's my leg? Do you guys see my leg?"

At this point I am just like "WTF, his leg is gone, do you guys see a leg?" just kind of dumbfoundedly looking around for a bloody stump. One of the guys that was riding with us, pops up and says," found it!" and then bangs it against the street lamp pole," Bong!". It was a prosthetic leg. How did he get the peg leg you ask? A previous wreck, on his bike........

this teleconference is almost the same thing we just did in December

wish it was in person up in DC...I wouldn't mind some hotel time by myself and escape all my normal life stuff

Finally cleared some time and watched The Many Saints of Newark last night. Two thumbs up

really?

I heard it was shit
I heard this too. Those first few seasons of the Sopranos were amazing- each like some of the best mob movies ever. And then it degenerated into cartoonish garbage in the last couple of seasons, so I guess this isn't surprising.

Holy shit. How's your wife holding up? That's a fucked up thing to have to see.

Think I may be going under contract to sell the house in my name tonight. Buyer has their house under contract now & basically sold. Keeping it in my mom's family still as my mom's cousin is buying it. It was her parents place & I bought it when they passed as no one else could buy or keep it at the time.
