True story: After Bum Bright passed away, Jerry Jones said "Our agreement on the purchase of the Dallas Cowboys was finalized with a few notes on a napkin and a handshake." Later, Bum was offered more $$$ from someone else but Bum told the other buyer he'd already shaken hands on a deal. Now? Nobody's word means anything unless you get it in writing and the players definitely don't want contracts that hold them to their decisions. That's what is going to happen eventually when enough money is wasted on trying to buy players but they will squawk about it and claim they're being forced back into indentured servitude.
