Stop it, you're hurting my feelings.

In Tennessee’s case it’s usually TWO national championship caliber teams, at minimum.
at minimum? Aside from Tennessee (whose drought is practically just as long as Nebraskas), there are only 2 teams. UGA who just won it for the first time in 41 years and Florida who last won it in 08 and is currently coming off a losing season. And as of late, with the exception of the past couple years for UGA, neither have been close to winning it.

I don't necessarily dislike the rematches but when has a rematch lived up to the billing? The ratings show how much people didn't want to see Bama/UGA part deux.. hell people didn't want to see LSU/Bama in the BCS title game either.

Can't compare the NFL with college. We may get the same 4 at the end with a 12 school playoff, but at least there should be more cross conference games.

Maybe the SEC should take a step back after adding UT/ou.. don't do the pods, keep it as 8 school divisions. 8 conf games. play someone on the other side once every 7 years.. so if there is a 12 school playoff, rematches will be a lower percentage?

Nothing is going to change unless recruiting is address.

Let's institute a CFB draft for recruits. For scholarships, all recruits will be placed in a pool for P5s, walk-ons are allowed to pick their school and could possibly be added as a scholarship player the following year. All schools must fill their scholarship numbers through the draft, eliminating over-signing and giving the recruits a taste of what the NFL draft might be like.

This sounds fun.

Hey dumb fuck, I know the difference in the leagues. Even someone with a Clemson diploma can figure that out.

The question I asked, that for some reason got you all riled up, was why are rematches good in the NFL, but bad in CFB? I understand why there are more rematches ... but no one seems to whine about rematches in the NFL. If we can enjoy a third LA v. SF game, explain why someone wouldn't enjoy a UGA v. Bama rematch, if it is the best two teams?
I don't give twi shots about LA/SF. They play twice a year, and this will be the third.

(really they should have made their rematches the first round of CFP instead of final both times imho)
Probably from a ratings standpoint, but obviously not from a competitive standpoint.

I am speaking from a "ratings standpoint" because with me having no vested interest in the game am purely in it for entertainment

Maybe start with the fact that, in the NFL, they don't vote teams into the playoff and there are more than 4 teams involved in the playoff?
So when we get a ton of rematches in a 12 team CFP, suddenly rematches are okay. Got it.

I didnt watch either one of those CFP Finals either where i did watch the SEC CCG and CFP Semi's I think it would have been real interesting to see how Utah would have fared with how they were playing at the end of the year pretty sure the QB they switched to was undefeated.
Pretty sure Utah got beat in the Rose Bowl by Ohio Star so you can quit wondering. The two best teams where in the game and they hadn’t met in the final all the games would have been shit.

Look you want to be on an even standing with the NFL you need to represent it the same. Send 43.75% of the teams to the Playoffs then you can make proper comparisons.

with 32 teams and sending 14 to the playoffs it is a much different comparison

How often does Georgia play Alabama as part of their conference schedule?

How about how many times has A&M played Auburn?

there is no "standardized" method across FBS while the NFL is quite rigid in how things are done

you missed the caveat of opt-outs and having a meaningful game, thanks for playing tho.

I wouldn't go as far as to say...okay. But at least they get there by having to beat more than 1 team. Or, in some cases in the past, no other teams because they were voted in.

Who opts out for the Rose Bowl? Especially a Utah player.
Look im just saying it wasnt that important of a game, so it isnt the same thing. That isnt to say the result would be any different, but with college kids emotions make the game that much more unpredictable. Any given Saturday.

aTm plays Auburn every year as do Bama and Georgia. In fact I think there might be one national champion in the last 12 years that didn’t play Auburn.

You want a title then you have to come through us.

Wait a B1G guy saying the Rose Bowl isn’t important?

GTFO

on regular conference schedule? okay the point is there are teams that can go with only playing once in a decade and id idnt bother to look up said teams but meeting in the CCG is not the same as regular season
