MichiganUmmmmm who pimps rose bowl trophies?
People that have teams that actually play in the Rose Bowl.Ummmmm who pimps rose bowl trophies?
It’s not as glamorous as it soundsPeople that have teams that actually play in the Rose Bowl.
I’ll pimp Michigan State has won one more recently than them.Michigan
Ewww, who wants College Football to be more like the NFL...I'd rather put my dick in a blender.Look you want to be on an even standing with the NFL you need to represent it the same. Send 43.75% of the teams to the Playoffs then you can make proper comparisons.
with 32 teams and sending 14 to the playoffs it is a much different comparison
How often does Georgia play Alabama as part of their conference schedule?
How about how many times has A&M played Auburn?
there is no "standardized" method across FBS while the NFL is quite rigid in how things are done
I mean i wasnt honestly suggesting that happen was just making fun of the comparison when it is apples and oranges lololEwww, who wants College Football to be more like the NFL...I'd rather put my dick in a blender.
So does UGA. It’s gross though. Rose Bowl shouldn’t be in the CFP rotation.I’ll pimp Michigan State has won one more recently than them.
id sign that petitionSo does UGA. It’s gross though. Rose Bowl shouldn’t be in the CFP rotation.
So again, if it's okay in the NFL, and we expand to 12 teams with AQ, so that everyone gets a chance at the natty, why would rematches not be okay.I wouldn't go as far as to say...okay. But at least they get there by having to beat more than 1 team. Or, in some cases in the past, no other teams because they were voted in.
My last comment on this ... when I was at the Clemson game this year, we had a sack on the first or second play. I think we ended up with about 7 sacks, and a ton of pressures. After the first sack of the second half I said to my Dawg buddy, "it's just going to get worse as the games goes on ... you can't fix those types of problems on the O line in the middle of a game." And it did. He texted that back to me in the first quarter of the Orange Bowl. You can't make the type of adjustments you are talking about mid-game. You can make tweaks here and there, but yo can't make a major schematic change mid-game. No one does it.I think that is exactly what they thought because they'd gotten by with it most of the season.
I know they had an "offensive" and "defensive" identity. The military folks have "Master Plans" too. They've also realized they need to adjust those plans once the bullets/bombs whatever start flying and they've trained for a Plan B. So I'm guessing Michigan didn't have a Plan B.
Not exactly Webster's definition but I'm sure you've heard this defintion of insanity.
"Insanity Is Doing the Same Thing Over and Over Again and Expecting Different Results"
If what you are saying is true, not only was Michigan out talented they were also insane because it sure looked to me like they were trying the same old, same old over and over again.
Definitely more than the Peach bowl. Probably more than the Cotton and Fiesta bowls too.So does UGA. It’s gross though. Rose Bowl shouldn’t be in the CFP rotation.
Cotton, Peach and Fiesta Bowls didn’t prevent true NCGs prior to the BCS era. The Rose Bowl has been a stain on college football history. If you have to have a venue in Pac country, put it Vegas. Not some dump has been stadium for a bowl that hasn’t been a big deal since the 20’sDefinitely more than the Peach bowl. Probably more than the Cotton and Fiesta bowls too.
Honestly, I don't even know what you guys are arguing about. But I'll clarify UGA's brush with the natty:at minimum? Aside from Tennessee (whose drought is practically just as long as Nebraskas), there are only 2 teams. UGA who just won it for the first time in 41 years and Florida who last won it in 08 and is currently coming off a losing season. And as of late, with the exception of the past couple years for UGA, neither have been close to winning it.
Nobody’s goal is to go to the Cotton, Peach, or Fiesta bowls. They are second tier shitty bowls that if they weren’t in the playoff rotation, no one would give two shits if you won them. Might as well have the Outback or Citrus bowl in the rotation.Cotton, Peach and Fiesta Bowls didn’t prevent true NCGs prior to the BCS era. The Rose Bowl has been a stain on college football history. I've been it's a shithole. It’s not as glamorous as it sounds
(1) I don't think that the Rose should have any influence on the expansion, and (2) it is a dump of a stadium, and (3) I rarely watched it ... a B1G v. PAC just didn't have that much meaning to me.Cotton, Peach and Fiesta Bowls didn’t prevent true NCGs prior to the BCS era. The Rose Bowl has been a stain on college football history. In order to have a legit shot at winning the natty, you have to make the natty.Honestly, I don't even know what you guys are arguing about. But I'll clarify UGA's brush with the natty:
- After winning in 1980, they were in it the next 3 seasons and likely would have won it in 1983 if Hershel doesn't leave a year early and go to the USFL. You yutes have to realize that simply was not possible in the NFL ... you had to play 4 years.
- Late 80s and 90s we were dominated by UF and UTjr who won 3 NCs in the time period. Never close to my recollection.
- In 2002 we were 13-1 and would have had a shot in a 4 team CFP. Ended up no. 3.
- In 2007 no one wanted to play us by the end of the year. No one. This was Stafford's final year. We were 11-2 with a beat down of Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl - we finished ranked no. 2. We were no. 3 in the year end rankings and no. 1 nd no. 2 lost. They jumped the nos. 4 and 5 teams in front of us because we didn't play in the SECCG. At that time, you simply had to play in the conf champ game to be considered for the BCS. I am convinced we win that year.
- In 2012 the clock ran out with us on Bama's 5 yard line in the SECCG against Bama. That was the NC game. The winner would go on to beat the shit out of Notre Dame.
- In 2017 we lost the NC in double OT.
Now you know why the 1980, 41 years hurt so much. In 7 of those years we had a legit shot at the natty. So, we've been close to winning it 7 times ... it's part of the frustration, the weight from which has been lifted.
You want that on the puree or blend setting because we are there for the most part. In fact, it is worse because there is no salary cap and no limits on free agency.Ewww, who wants College Football to be more like the NFL...I'd rather put my dick in a blender.
You mean you can't just claim your conference championship game is the natty? In order to have a legit shot at winning the natty, you have to make the natty.

This isn’t the 60’s anymore, boomer. But the Cotton Bowl was always a big deal. UGA kept Texas from winning a natty at the Cotton Bowl. Peach and Fiesta Bowls have gotten big in recent decades.Nobody’s goal is to go to the Cotton, Peach, or Fiesta bowls. They are second tier shitty bowls that if they weren’t in the playoff rotation, no one would give two shits if you won them. Might as well have the Outback or Citrus bowl in the rotation.
