Hermansson v Strickland will be worth the effort alone cause they are two punishers and both push. It seems everyone hates strickland....cause he hurts people and then says crazy shit like we need a war cause everyone's a pussy. lmao.

The co main event is one I don't know much about. Soriano is very good. Maximov I don't remember but I must have saw him win on the Ortega/Volkanovski card....which that fight card was great...so it has the making of a good fight.

Another great fight will be Shavkat Rakhmonov 14-0 v Carlston Harris 17-4, 5 fight win streak. So far Rakhmonov has been a beast. This will be a great test.

Sam Alvey has been around forever but has been on a bad skid. The guy he's fighting is no pushover. Probably Alvey's last fight.

Gore v Battle was supposed to be the final fight of Ultimate Fighter 29 but Gore got injured leading up to the fight. Battle was given a contract but it looks like the UFC is going to settle that old issue. I guess that means that Gore got a contract too?

There are a couple on prelims I like as well.

He's a funny man always doing dumb things outside the ring. And those illegal streaming count. It's all about popularity in today's tiktok world, those hits count. Sponsors know....which my guess is why he's always doing dumb things. This guy knows how to promote a fight.

IMO, a couple of things. There are a bunch of new fighters because there's been a major push by dana to get fighters. There are two series going on. Ultimate Fighter is the one where a bunch of guys live in the same home for a couple of months. The last one had Ortega and Volkanovski as coaches and there were some decent fighters there. They gave contracts to a few young fighters from that one.

And there is The Contender Series where dana brings in a bunch of amateur fighters, puts them in brackets and they do a single elimination tournament. Winner gets a contract. Loser goes back home.

Covid made it to where dana went to Abu Dahbi and they picked up a bunch of foreign guys because of visibility.

If you guys haven't been watching those two series, then you have missed out on at least 100 new fighters during covid.

Plus the move to espn. You have to buy espn+ to even buy a ppv. The fight this weekend is free if you already have espn+.

That could happen. Hermansson is a very good fighter. Everyone is saying it will be who imposes their style. Hermansson loves the ground and will snap an arm or leg off. Strickland loves to stick, move and pound. He does fight on the ground, but he must watch out for Hermansson's submissions. They are both strong like an ox so it's hard to say.

I like Strickland in this one.

I have seen Strickland fight before against Uriah Hall. He reminds me of the Diaz brothers but with a defense. He's none stop action from the start. But he looks really goofy in that video.

I just watched that fight again...yesterday. If you can, check out Hermansson v Gastelum.
 
lmao...already a fun card. First fight ... two 125 lb no-body-fat-lizard looking fucks roll around till one guys arm snaps.
 
The strickland hermansson fight wasn't what I expected. Strickland was conservative and just out pointed Hermansson. Hermanssson tried to take strickland down several times and wasn't successful once. Boring fight because it was too clinical, but strickland showed he knows how to score points and how not to take strikes or get taken down. Come on Strickland v Usman ... but I don't know if he did enough to jump the winner of Brunson v Cannonier coming up next weekend.

Two different fights of newbs...two different results:

Soriano v Maximov was great. Those two men are going to be somebody, someday. Gore and Battle need to take up stocking shelves at lowes.

Sam Alvey took a terrible loss to a guy on 4 days notice who had to move from 185 to 205 to fight alvey. He has a hot wife and needs to retire.

Rakhmanov outclassed and whipped the snot out of Harris.

And the Julian Erosa vs. Steven Peterson was 3 rounds of back and forth beating. Great fight and Fuck Peterson who showed up to overweight to his second fight in a row. No respect. Good on Erosa for giving up 4 pounds and pulling out the W by decision.
