I don't think Kaepernick after leaving the 49ers was really serious about ever playing football again. The NFL called his bluff multiple times and each time he either sabotaged it or made up some excuse why it didn't work, and then didn't even consider playing elsewhere. We'll see with Flores, I think you're right at least in the short/intermediate term he's done in the NFL but I could see him re-emerging in one of these USFL/XFL-type leagues or the lower college ranks if he actually does still want to coach.

Someone in college will give him a shot if he wants it, even as an HC. Probably won't have to get too far down the ranks either.

So there is a quota to interview minority coaches before hiring a coach. K

So minorities shouldn’t be pissed if they interview and don’t get the job. Teams have to “interview” those minority candidates. If you don’t like it, change the quota rule.

NFL owners don’t give a shit about color of skin. They care about money. If a coach can lead their to team to the Super Bowl, that’s who they are going to hire.

Ha, I won't lie I'm enjoying everyone looking at the Steelers kind of like that right now. The circumstances to get to it is unfortunate and Tomlin knows how to frustrate the hell out of me a lot of times but it's also just like "yes thank you all for your love and praise."

The thinking goes that you might be surprised and find someone you weren't expecting. However, just as in corporate America the majority of the time you know exactly who you want to fill a role. maybe you come across someone new and offer them another spot to deepen the bench, but in the NFL world you aren't going to entice someone to make a lateral move. So it kinda is pointless.

I was taking into account that they had interviewed Graham as well, but didn't realize that internal candidates don't qualify for the Rooney Rule.

its a “fit” especially for a job like that. Maybe they get surprised and fill an opening at OC or DC to try a guy out but coaching is a dam fraternity and I can’t believe this pussy is melting down like this. If his owner did him wrong I get it, but this is ridiculous

The NFL will have to add an extra week to the offseason in the future, just to accommodate all the fake interviews franchises will have to make with POCs.

Hue Jackson is at Grambling State and came out today saying the Browns wanted him to lose when he coached there.

There's no doubt Flores will coach again, it's just where.

True. But there is a difference between getting a job and then talking, and suing everyone you ever worked for or might someday work for and then trying to get a job.

But yes, he will have a job if he wants one at the college level.

Hue Jackson went from Browns aren't trying to tank to now they did try and I've seen a couple Browns fans say that since he contradicted himself he's not credible.

It's definitely possible he changed his story once he saw the Flores suit but I feel like it's much more likely that a sitting head coach would vehemently deny tanking for, well, obvious reasons. Or maybe he just really didn't know at the time. Especially since Hue wasn't fired after the 0-16 year, wink wink.
