I think the new OU womens coach has OU in first place! Just beat Texas. But yeah softball and gymnastics are the womens bread and butter.

I haven't figured out if he believes what he posted or is trolling. That last part has to be trolling.
Being an LSU fan, I am now more worried about Oklahoma in the SEC than when Riley was there. OU scored a lot of points w/Riley but gave up a lot. A&M is about the same way but that hasn't worked well in the SEC. Now OU has some coaches there that will change this, and that ain't gonna be good for the other SEC teams. And he has a year to get things in place.
Guessin on 2022, but IMO OU has to be one of the favs for the CC. Maybe Baylor and OSU will give a run.
All this talk about the demise of OU is bullshit.

i get that they are circling the wagons but let's be real.. LR had them on track to be a top 5 class this year but also being a real threat at #1 in '23.

Yeah....I've been saying for 3 years that there needed to be more focus on the defensive side of the ball.

That other guy didn't seem to think so. This new guy seems to get it.

There are many prolific offenses out there now, LR isn't the wunderkind he once was as his offensive schemes have been out in the wild for several years...and a good deal of the uniqueness he enjoyed was the guys under center.

We will see how it all pans out. I wouldn't be all that enthused if I were an opponent.

You are correct in what u said but let’s be honest getting Fucked like Riley did to OU did and taking all his 5 star offensive talent out west so late in the game and BV recovering to keep a top 10 class is pretty impressive and I’m pretty pleased with how things ended up.

You mean the class that Lincoln Riley had sitting in the top 3 or 4?

It is like the casual fan can't grasp the disparity between the top 5 and the top 10 in recruiting. OU has the 8th best class.

Take Texas, as an example, the highest ranked recruit signed by OU would be the 6th ranked recruit in Texas's class.

OSU is the 4th best class -- OU's top recruit would rank 8th in OSU's class.

Georgia is 3rd -- OU's top recruit would rank 11th in Georgia's class.

Alabama is 2nd -- OU's top recruit would rank 16th in Bama's class.

Texas AM is 1st -- OU's top recruit would rank 18th in TAM's class.


So yes -- OU may be just fine in the Big 12, but if you think you are going to compete for a national title without bringing in elite talent, as in 5 star game changers -- you are kidding yourself. I've tried telling Michigan fans this for years. We bring in top 10 classes too. We get lapped by OSU. We finally beat them and it is like Christmas as a kid. With Riley locking down Cali on OU - he is making OU grab ankles yet again. And if the Texas schools start putting kids on the payroll, like they are doing now -- it will only get tougher and tougher to pull recruits out of there.
