Michigan opens up the NIL money cannon

I never thought we'd actually do something like this.

Open to the public, huh? Interesting, I'll have to check it out. I wouldn't mind sponsoring some UM players to advertise for A&M.

What are you thinking?

"Hi, my name is Cade Mcnamara. You may know me as the QB who beat Ohio State. I'd like to talk to you about a new product coming soon, A&M Butt Paste, great for soothing the pain of losses"

so this portal is to donate for individual players?

Yup. Once you get approved you can search individual players and directly pay them through the site.

For enough money I bet I can get some 3rd string player who wants to transfer out to go on social media and profess his love for "a superior school in Texas A&M".

interesting strategy.. I know the goal of the UT one is to raise the floor for every scholarship football player. The big money for star positions will take care of itself (like Bijan).

One of the guys that helped put together the Horns w/ Heart deal said that Texas/UM/Tosu would be the most beneficial when it came out to this due to alumni and fanbase

It seems like a potential violation to have the school be directly involved with getting players paid by boosters this overtly.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it unless the school is the one setting up the contract. Facilitating an easy search doesn't seem like the same thing as setting up the contract.

Yeah appears strange. It is run by INFLCR (influencer web engine) which partners with over 3500 teams. Is it OK to be using INFLCR in this manner?

.

That's just how it feels to everyone who lived through the NCAA days. But NIL is the Wild West now.

Meh. Wouldn't be surprise if most programs don't already have something like this or coming out pretty soon

Think UT copied y'all with being able to buy jerseys with the players names on it now..officially at least
