I'm not a big fan of figure skating but there is a 15 year old girl from the ROC that is lights out better than anybody else there. She is worth the price of admission. IMHO
You mean letting in all the Russian athletes but under a different name/flag didn't do shit? They postponed the award ceremony because she failed a drug test. Looks like the Russians are still doping their athletes....
The argument (which I kind of agreed with at the time) is it doesn’t hurt the dopers if they ban participants in the next Olympics. It hurts some kid who has been working hard their whole life only to get banned for someone else’s sins. The problem is then the punishment is meaningless and they continue their doping program. I think the IOC has to just ban them outright for a few Olympics to stop it now.poor 15year old girl doping from russia..
fuck them.. they aren't even supposed to be competing. how can you be banned but still compete
Yes, innocents will be hurt. But that's the only way to punish the countries olympic program. The argument (which I kind of agreed with at the time) is it doesn’t hurt the dopers if they ban participants in the next Olympics. Agreed. I feel bad for the athletes because I know what their lives are like. My daughter’s gymnastics coaches are Russian and have described what these kids go through (basically giving up their entire lives to train). But there’s no other way to stop this. Who knows what it’s going to do to these kids long term.Yes, innocents will be hurt. But that's the only way to punish the countries olympic program.
Yup, and almost all of the olympic sports are the top of their space with exceptions being the big5 pro sports. So if you don't get to the olympics then that is just about it and all your life work was for not much. My sons pitching coach is from the DR and spends a lot of time telling my kid how lucky he is. Of course my kid doesn't agree when he hears that at age 10 in the DR you decide to either to baseball or school. And if you choose baseball then you don't go to school, you spend 10 hours a day playing baseball. 10 year old brain thinks that would be awesome. But if you don't make it, then you are uneducated and without income.Agreed. I feel bad for the athletes because I know what their lives are like. Because the IOC is only slightly less corrupt than Russia.poor 15year old girl doping from russia..
