Really, I take issue when my team wastes a roster spot on a return man that can’t really do anything else
 
Patrick Peterson was a pretty good corner. Also a pretty good returner. I’d take him over Hester

Hester was drafted as a corner fwiw.

Wanting Hester in the HOF would be like wanting Lenny Harris in the baseball HOF because he has the most pinch hits of all time. There was a reason he was mostly used as a pinch hitter

Total yards are 9302 to 7122 with 2 more years played.

I’m all for the NFL getting rid of kickoffs and punts just so scrubs like Hester can’t take a roster spot away from real players anymore.

Devin Hester is the late inning defensive replacement of football. Devin Hester to the Bears was what Guillermo Heredia was to the Braves

Hester was kicked away from for most of the remainder of his career after '06 and 07' too.

KO stats are worthless these days anyhow with the new touchback rules. Hester is going to get in only if the committee that looks at prior players to value their stats against players at that time puts him in. Returners these days are afterthoughts and that will wrap Hester up.

Lenny Harris's slash line as a pinch hitter was .264/.317/.337, that really does not seem like a good comparison.
