Good morning, day walkers

I'd rather just get the jab

even though COVID seems to be dying a slow death....

I'd still just get the jab

you, however, just had COVID so you should have antigens in you still...so why do anything right now?

Right. I’m good until mid March. If I decide to do this I’d need to sign up for it. I’d schedule it for after mid March.

I think I'd rather do nothing than to get the experimental whatever it is you are getting.

mRNA vaccine is a better option than both nothing and the experimental, IMO

I’ll mention your opinion to my cardiologist. See if you guys are on the same page. I’m assuming they are offering this for a reason. I’m still not sure exactly why the jab isn’t good for me.

I've spent the better part of 5 weeks visiting the hospital in Grapevine. 2 of those weeks on the ICU floor where I personally witnessed 5 to 7 Covid deaths. One of the nurses I've made a connection with told me that over the past 6 months, over 90% of their Covid deaths were unvaccinated individuals. And a lot of them, in their wanning days, were begging for the shot. Kinda sad cause it's too late at that point and these poor nurses have to tell them that. I have a new respect for hospital nurses and the shit they have to deal with 45-55 hours a week.

Oh, and a co-worker of mine died from Covid around 10 days ago. Going to his funeral this Saturday. He's going to be buried right down the way from Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul. RIP

In my experience, you’ll actually land yourself a bigger raise doing what you’re doing (exploring your options, entertaining offers) than had your simply asked for a raise. Probably jarring for your current boss to hear your news on a Monday morning. It costs him a lot more to hire somebody new than to keep you.

With that said - if you do decide to stay - you’re the guy who was actively looking for new work, which means your boss will always have that in the back of his mind. Some bosses are cool w that while others are not.
Lol. Funny you mention that. When I told the other guy that I was going to stay where I'm at since they matched their offer, he obviously tried to convince me his place was better. Kept telling me that basically my current job doesn't care about me as much if it took a new job offer to get me a raise. Even just started texting me and sent me an article explaining how much more expensive it is for someone to hire somebody new than keep me. Although i told them several times that I was happy with where I was at and it would take a substantial raise to get me to leave.

But thankfully I've got a pretty cool boss. And he was a big reason I didn't want to leave here. Also, I told him that I wasn't actively looking for new work. The guy that reached out to me for this opportunity use to work here just a few weeks ago. But hes trying to start up a new engineering dept. at another place. When I told my boss that, he actually just started laughing and understood.

All bullshit.

I have said that as well..

but it most likely won't change so we just suck it up and play...

Again. Play better defense... You still have just as much of a chance to prevent a team from scoring in OT as you did in regular time, no?

It's a major advantage for a team that just scored prior to end of regulation to then turn around and get the ball right back with a chance at a sudden death victory.

I'm sorry to hear that...it feels like I hear less and less of it lately but I know it is still out there and it is still a threat.

and yea, much respect to the doctors and nurses through all this. They have been getting their asses kicked physically and emotionally with all of it. If you know a nurse, give them a hug.
